Market always rises post-elections 😍😍 Not necessarily! Out of the eight elections, markets declined in four instances a year after the declaration of results. However, three of these four declines were during a period marked by instability in Indian politics from 1996-1999. The fourth decline was due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which caused a crash in stock markets worldwide. #election2024 40 COUNTRIES TO FIGHT IT OUT IN 2024 It was indeed interesting to read in a 2024 outlook report that 40 countries are conducting elections in the year 2024. Spread across the various continents, it will be a hectic year for the geo political analysts. Interestingly the report says that elections has minimal impact on the markets. I guess they are discounting the short term volatility around the election event and markets continue their original trend. Of course this is a statistical premise and there could be exceptions to this finding. (1st June 2024) In numbers - total voters (actually voted) 642 million, that is 1.5x of all G7 country voters, 2.5x of all 27 countries of EU voters.
