It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating being a finalist for the St. Louis Business Journal's Best Places to Work Awards. Well, the celebration continues as we are named as a finalist for the Post-Dispatch's annual Top Workplaces Awards. One thing is clear - McClure Engineering is the place to be! What can we say? Our employee's just really like it here. Could it be our extensive healthcare coverage 🏥? Our focus on career development 💼? Our annual float trip 🛶? Our award-winning softball team ⚾? Popcorn Wednesdays 🍿? Bring Your Dog to Work Day 🐶? Or perhaps it's the chance to be named winner of the annual Chili contest 🌶️? Who's to say 🤷? In any case, there must be a reason so many people decide to spend their careers here! #mcclureengineeringstl #topworkplaces #bestplacestowork #companyculture

Let Cuppa help you create the right conversation for your next event or conference.
'Together we are stronger' is the theme of the 2024 Western Sydney University Professional Staff conference and this morning I helped launch this theme with the incredible Ronni Kahn AO from OzHarvest. Each and everyone of us has the capability to make a difference in the world and in our workplaces. The real movements occurs when we can galvanise people to come on the journey with us through purposeful thought leadership. To hold space with Ronni again was an absolute priviledge and the amount of positive feedback has really warmed the heart. Whilst the launch conversation was virtual, I can't wait to be in person on Wednesday where Chibs Okereke, Lizzie Williamson and MITCH WALLIS will be joining me on stage at the physical staff conference. Thanks again to DeAnn Gilliver and team at Western Sydney University to trust all that I and we do at Cuppa. Love the relationship we have established over the last 4 years together.

This year Belden was recognized as a Great Place to Work. And not just a Great Place to Work in one country but in 17! It is an awesome accomplishment for any company and speaks to the "Belong. Believe. Be you" mantra that we have. While that is great for us, want to know what is sad about the Great Place to Work information overall? According to Great Place to Work, only 57% of employees at a typical U.S. based company say the company they work at is a great place to work (our number at Belden is 81%). 57%. That seems terrible. Barely half of all employees think their company is a great place to work in the U.S. Think about other metrics, tests, etc. Would 57% be sufficient? 57% on a test, 57% accuracy on your financial statement, 57% offer acceptance rate, 57% would not cut it and would require immediate action to correct. But that doesn't seem to be the case in companies and trying to make their environments a great place to work even if not going for the official certification. I think one of the reasons the number is so low is because of the approach many of us bring to work. It is often only results driven, only focused on a number or a dollar, and too often the human element is left out and ignored. In recruiting, we hear the bad and the good of different companies with the amount of conversations we have with people looking to change jobs or who are out of a job. A similar theme that I hear in my conversations is that companies and managers take the Dumb and Dumber approach to trying to make their company and environment a better place to work...

You know what's pretty cool? Strong leadership that recognises leadership potential, and lifts you up. I'm two weeks into a brand new journey. New environments are scary. Meeting new people is daunting. I've had a lot of change over my twenty something years and sometimes I feel like it never gets easier. But this incredible pool of talent known as Battenhall gave me a platform from the first day I walked through the door... and they've taught me something👇 When you start a new job, don't try to prove your worth. Shake off the pressure to be confident and to be seen. Your value isn't in your status as the new talent as that will expire. It's in your authenticity. Success will show up when you do, in the unpolished, grounded version of you. YOU were hired for a reason. Cringey 🫣 ? No, just honest. Thanks Drew Benvie for your trust. Let's wow that new client 😎 #newjob #leadership
Founder & CEO at Battenhall. 2024 Campaign Magazine & Sabres PR CEO of the Year, PRCA Outstanding Contribution, NMA #1 Social Media Consultant in the UK, PRWeek Power Book 14 yrs running.
It was so energising to bring our global teams together physically and virtually for our first company Town Hall of the year this week. New starters sat next to old timers is amazing to help build team culture. That's Charlie Sharpe in grey, in his 10th year at Battenhall after starting work at the agency at the tender age of 17, sat next to one of our newest team members Isabella B. who has just won her first client in her second week here. And me looking on in pride at our 60 colleagues dialling in and co-presenting from across the world. Here's to 2024 surrounded by positivity and talent.

Getting on the Best Places To Work list is an achievement in itself, but doing it FIVE TIMES IN A ROW? That takes some serious corporate culture secret sauce to pull off! I'm grateful to say I've been part of the last 2.5 years of this winning streak, and I'm here for more. People ask me: "What's it like working at Boveda?" My answer every time: "It's like working with every favorite coworker you've ever had." Everyone here is not only incredibly talented, but passionate about their work too. And that passion shows in so many different ways: Ownership of the work, filling gaps where needed, cross-functional collaboration, celebrating wins of all sizes, continuous improvement, and servant leadership (the backbone of our culture!) We do all of this while having fun in the process! And if something isn't working well, we address it head on and fix it together. Shout out to all of my fellow Bovedians for being incredible human beings who make work an enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding experience! Here's to many more together.
Employees are our greatest asset, and it shows. We’re honored to announce Boveda Inc. has been recognized by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal for Best Places to Work 2023 for the fifth year running. Annual recognition event: honoring our colleagues! Today we held our annual recognition event, a special occasion where we celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our colleagues from High Five Health Promotion and Westfield Health. This event reminds us of the importance of acknowledging not only successes but also the positive impact a colleague has on their team and the company culture, celebrating both achievements and personal qualities. Our core values play an essential role in this recognition: - We Care: the ones that have shown they genuinely care about others, whether it’s our customers, colleagues, or the community. Their empathy and commitment make a world of difference. - We Are Explorers: this one is for the pioneers, those who aren’t afraid to explore new paths and embrace innovation. Their curiosity and creativity drive us forward continually. - We Own It: this category recognizes those who take responsibility and deliver results. They are reliable, proactive, and their dedication inspires us all to do our best work. - We Are In It Together: here, we honor the team players who foster collaboration. Their ability to connect people and work together makes us stronger and more united. Each winner has demonstrated themselves exceptionally in one of these core values. Thanks to everyone who made this celebration possible and to all our colleagues for their ongoing dedication and hard work!
