We are placing our employee spotlight on Senior Coordinator of Operations, Oscar Sandoval!: "I am the eye in the sky when it comes to facilities, where I get to oversee and facilitate day to day operations. I collaborate with every department at the studio, and there’s no chair or desk that is moved without me knowing about it." Read more about Oscar's inspiration and his favorite part of the job below!

Resonating with this thought today: The irrefutable link between a satisfied team and satisfied clients. 💯 ☑️ When our team thrives, so does the service we provide.🤝 #Teamwork #ClientSatisfaction

The only way to take care of clients is to take care of our team. Every company has a pretty website and nice-sounding values… But the proof is in the pudding. Want to know how good a company's culture is? Ask their customers about service quality.

As a smallish P&C team you can still make an outsized impact by over-delivering on a handful of flagship people experiences. As a team light on resources it’s almost impossible to do everything at the standard you want. But by going above and beyond on a couple of unique people experiences that are clearly linked to your org. strategy, you can still make a huge difference. Building a flagship people experience usually requires some co-design, challenging the status quo, doing things differently from your competitors, and taking more risks in what you do. As a small P&C team, you don’t need to do everything to an amazing standard to make a difference. Just find a few parts of the employee experience that you can really create a wow factor around. What’s a cool P&C initiative you’ve recently seen that’s inspired you?

How do you survive a new country, new job, and a new team? Reflecting back it was just few simple (but very, very brave) steps 1.) Ask for help: Swallow your pride and shyness, approach people, introduce yourself, ask for directions, tag along on lunches, request for someone to show the ropes. You might encounter a lot of "I'm too busy". But persistence is key. 2.) Extend help: You might have a skill set that is missing in the current team, do not hesitate to volunteer for tasks, assist and learn from other people who have more experience than you. 3.) Show up: Always honor your commitments. Make sure your team mates know that they always have your support from simple things to big tasks. Applaud the loudest for them. When it your turn, you will have a whole team applauding for you. This was over 10 years ago. My team mates, now turned friends, still show up for each other. For this instance, it took an international flight, a local flight, a car ride, a bus ride, a boat ride and an e-trike, but we still did show up. Snacks for anyone who remember which team did we belong and what building did we call home. Also, taking this opportunity to showcase the beautiful Philippine sunset. How to stay connected to the business as a recruiter? 👩💻 Being part of the Leiden office crew at In Ovo means I’m quite far from where the magic happens —our production locations in Ochten and Poppel. Yet, staying connected to these sites is crucial. For me, this means understanding the daily operations and culture on-site. This enables me to find the best people for our operations department. As a small reminder of why we do what we do, I’ve placed this cute little chick on my laptop cable. It’s a simple way to keep our mission close at hand. 🐤 How about you? What do you do to stay connected to the business?

When my wife was onboarded with her new company, they did something that was really fascinating... The company has over 150 full time employees, and they need to function as a cohesive unit to be successful. For the first two weeks of onboarding, she spent an entire business day, sometimes two, with a team member in another sector of the business. I believe this achieved three things. 1. Chemistry—What a great way to meet new team members. Get fully immersed in their role, mission, purpose, and daily tasks. In the little moments, personal connections can be made, and deeper bonds can be established. 2. Better customer service—Because she now has a basic understanding of every role in the company and what the company has to offer, she can be attentive to her patient's needs and provide the perfect resource for them and their families to be successful at the moment. 3. Teamwide empathy - Because she now understands what a day at work looks like for everyone in the company she can have empathy for her co-workers. She knows who is probably going to be busy and who is a good resource for help. She knows what times of the day her co-workers will be busy, and when they might have some downtime. The fourth thing I would say, is it is a great opportunity for growth within the company. Now that she knows what roles are available, she can set her sights higher, become loyal to the company, and climb the ladder. Do you understand what everyone in your company is doing on a daily basis? Do you know how you could potentially help them? Do you know if your requests are actually quite burdensome?

Every Monday morning at 09:00 we have JOBJACK's Pack StandUp. We use this opportunity to: 💪 Start the week as a united team; 🧗♀️ Sharing some personal weekend stories - your colleagues actually have lives outside of work and it is part of who they are; 🏆 Running through important victories and learnings of each department - giving dept representatives a chance to share invaluable insights to those they might not collaborate with every day; 🚀 Taking the time to discuss or share vision, culture or operational topics to align the entire Pack for this amazing mission we are on. ⏱ 30min and we're back to the task at hand - #EmploytheWorld. 🗣 Please share any other rhythms that your organisation has implemented to unite and motivate your team on a regular basis. #culture #rhythms #vision
