What is the most available alternative fuel ? Autogas, also known as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), is indeed one of the most widely available alternative fuels for cars in certain regions, particularly in Europe and parts of Asia. It is a mixture of propane and butane, derived from refining petroleum or natural gas. Autogas is popular because it can be used in vehicles with relatively minor modifications, and it has a well-established refueling infrastructure, especially in countries where it is heavily promoted and subsidized. It is often chosen for its lower emissions compared to traditional gasoline and diesel fuels. However, the availability of autogas can vary significantly from one country to another. In some regions, autogas stations are abundant and easily accessible, while in others, they may be less common or even non-existent. ExxonMobil has successfully bunkered a bio marine fuel blend to a ro-ro vessel, Anvil Point, chartered by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) from Foreland Shipping. The fuel comprised a conventional 0.10% sulphur marine gas oil (ULSMGO) with a bio component of up to 7% that was made from waste-based fatty acid methyl esters (FAME).     According to Stephen Cooper, Foreland’s general manager, Anvil Point achieved an estimated 5.7% lifecycle CO₂ emission reduction as a result of the switch from 100% conventional MGO.
