October is National Bullying Awareness Month, and this is an opportunity to encourage the nation to take action at the local level to create safe and supportive organisations. Disabled young people and those with SEN (SEND) are significantly more likely to experience bullying - including online bullying than their peers. Children who have learning disabilities and autism are particularly at risk. Bullying is unacceptable in every walk of life and every age group. Comments or conduct that disparages or demonstrates hostility or aversion should not be tolerated. Being accepting, kind and inclusive can help make the world a better place. Together, we can create a world without bullying! Anti-Bullying Week takes place from the 14th to the 18th November 2023, and the theme for 2023 is 'Make a Noise About Bullying' The Anti Bullying Alliance have a helpful page on their website with links and resources to help parents and children with learning disabilities - here is the link https://lnkd.in/eMyExe8d

''Bully Education '' ✓Teach your children to confidently assert themselves. Let them know that the bullies are no way better than them. ✓Encourage your children to maintain confident body language, such as standing tall and making eye contact whenever they feel threatened. ✓ It's good that you make them understand that it's important to seek help from trusted adults, such as teachers or parents, when they feel threatened or unsafe. ✓Teach your kids to stay in groups or pairs, as these bullies are less likely to target children who are not alone. ✓Always engage your children in social activities that boost their self-esteem and confidence, which can make them less vulnerable targets for bullies. Say No to Bullying!!!

🛑 Take a Stand Against Bullying! 🛑 At Cambian, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone. Through our Anti-Bullying Policy that we have in place across each of our children’s services, we aim to make everyone aware of the steps to take in case of a bullying incident and ensure swift and supportive action, enabling us to prevent and address any bullying concerns as soon as possible. Our policy also encourages the following: 1. Promoting good behaviour and positive relationships based on mutual respect. 2️. Making pupils fully aware of our school's anti-bullying policy through clear expectations. 3️. Ensuring pupils understand the importance of reporting bullying to staff, parents, or any helpful adult. 4️. Incorporating anti-bullying education into our curriculum, including PSHE, assemblies, circle time, and more. 5️. Developing Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) across our school and curriculum. 6️. Informing parents through various means about our anti-bullying policy and encouraging their support. 7. Developing initiatives to raise awareness of the negative impact of bullying, such as anti-bullying assemblies and peer mentoring. 8. Ensuring all staff are familiar with the child on child abuse policy through regular training and professional development. Bullying can happen anywhere, but together, we can eliminate it. Let's ensure that every individual is treated fairly and with respect! 💙🤝 #EndBullyingNow #AntiBullyingWeek #MakeANoise
