It's Take a Child Outside week! Time spent outdoors has benefits both outside and inside the classroom. We're talking a reduction in ADHD symptoms as well as in stress and anxiety, improved creativity and problem solving, improved social relationships, and improvements in regulation. Children are spending about 50% less time outdoors compared to 20 years ago, as explained by the National Wildlife Federation. All children deserve (and need!) to experience safe, open, green spaces. If you're looking for ideas on what to do once you're out there, check out these ideas from takeachildoutside.org. #childdevelopment #ECE #outdoors #environmentalequity
