Excited to tune into the Design Your Impact virtual series, held by Architizer and Material Bank. The series consists of five accredited IDCEC CEU sessions focused on the most relevant industry topics surrounding climate, human and social health. One virtual session will be held each day from December 4th - 8th. Best part is that they are completely free. From the seamless efficiency of a spider’s web to the complex patterns on the butterfly's wings, nature has always been a prodigious designer, engineer, and architect, refining its skills over billions of years to find the best ways for its own survival, as well as the flourishing of the ecosystem as a whole. Fresh from the press: Our latest research has been featured in the International Journal of Architectural Computing. Building upon our prior research in sustainable design, this paper explores the innovative application of algorithms to facilitate the integration of reclaimed elements in a case study from Oslo, Norway. 🌲🏡♻ The video illustrates how matching algorithms are applied to assign available reclaimed elements to new structures, enhancing both the effectiveness and practicality of the process. Moreover, we have augmented our models with detailed scans of these materials, which enriches the dataset and strengthens interdisciplinary collaboration.
