Where are the women at?? It has been nearly 6 months since I have joined Applause IT. In this time I have spoken to many excellent candidates. However, I have noticed that the majority of those have been males. I want to understand why this is? Statistically only 26% of the tech work force are female which is shocking compared to the recruitment industry where that percentage is significantly higher at around 50%. I would like to do more research into Women in Tech in the coming months and see what I can do as a recruiter to change this percentage. Recognizing International Women's Day and Women's History Month is merely the starting point. At ZoomInfo Labs, our commitment extends beyond these observances. We celebrate the contributions of women every single day. This holds a significance for me as I envision a world where my daughters, and all women, receive equitable compensation for their work. ZoomInfo has devoted considerable effort to ensuring gender parity in pay is the norm, and we’ll continue to invest in this area. Several women who inspire me every day: Millie Beetham is a force, and is one of the most talented people in GTM. She has pushed the industry forward and has a never ending appetite for inventing the future of GTM, AI and more. Mariana Jacques is one of the most determined, creative and resilient people I know. Moving here from Brazil at an early age was just the beginning. She’s been incredibly successful in a male-dominated field, but also is obsessed with feedback, learning and trying new things. Annabelle Mangin for her incredible curiosity and passion for what we’re building at ZI Labs. And for taking on new challenges without missing a step. Amanda Ingram is an incredible mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend, educator and more. She’s dedicated her teaching career to helping under-resourced communities in DC and Oakland. But most importantly, she’s teaching the next generation to seek fairness, work hard and be kind. Here's a picture of our two daughters. My hope for them? To earn their worth in a world where equal pay isn't just a rally cry, and the biggest threat is deciding whether they want to be the boss of robots or let AI do the heavy lifting 😀

This reflection takes on added meaning in the tech industry, where the underrepresentation of women is evident – with just 1 in 4 software engineers being women, according to https://lnkd.in/e3rEPQ25. Interested, DM me, would love our community to learn from you! #LatinaGeeks Women In Tech Festival Speaker Application We appreciate your interest in speaking at the Women in Tech Festival: Latinas Leading the Way conference on November 4, 2023, in San Diego, CA. We are looking for volunteers that represent the diversity of our community to deliver a solo talk, participate on a panel or lead a workshop that falls into one of the following agenda tracks: 1. Technology & Innovation 2. Empowerment 3. Career 4. Hands-on workshops Submission Details Panel Speakers & moderators should be prepared to lead a 45-minute session (including Q&A). Power Talk Speakers have 15 minutes of speaking time, and workshop leaders should be ready to lead a 1.5-hour workshop with hands-on activities. The Audience Our attendees are Latinas and allies working in both technical and non-technical roles. They range from university students to C-Level executives, with most attendees being early to mid-career. They are interested in hearing from other women in the industry on topics that will help them grow their skills, expand their knowledge, and advance their careers. Submission Deadline The deadline for submissions is AUGUST 31, 2023. Please note that submissions may be closed before this date, depending on the number of proposals received. Notifications Submissions will be accepted and reviewed on a rotating basis. Speakers will have ten days to respond to notices of acceptance. Please make sure to respond within ten days to avoid a revocation of the invitation to speak.

20% of women over the age of 35 who work in the tech industry are still in junior positions, which may be a contributing factor to the number of women leaving tech after this age (50%).
