For the third year, PeopleForBikes commissioned a nationwide trend study on bicycling participation from the Physical Activity Council. The reports span five cycling categories: unpaved (mountain), paved (road), BMX, stationary (group), and stationary (individual). These reports represent our industry’s best estimate for participation in specific cycling activities during 2023 and provide valuable insights to help understand overall trends in ridership and analyze audience segments. It requires sustained investments from all governments to provide the conditions for safe and attractive cycling.
