It's all we could afford. We also knew that it was impolite to make fun of a kid on Free Lunch or the kid who had plastic coins back from a certain bakery in Fields Corner that gave you back "their" money when you paid with food stamps. Owner, Speakman Management Consulting, Facilitating a Positive Impact in Addressing Key Community Issues
As I mentioned before, Food Banks are the canary in the coal mine (in full transparency - I stole that quote from Bill Bolling) concerning community need, and the households served by Atlanta Community Food Bank has seen a 40% increase in the last 2 years. So, mostly likely, other nonprofits will see an big increase in need this and next year. The solutions we recommend for the nonprofit sector to serve more need with less financial resources: SHORT TERM: · Invest in fundraising capacity (will likely require foundation support) · Better activate your board in fundraising · Focus on your niche/competitive advantage and partner for the rest - possibly exploring pairing back to your core competence · Better prove (and communicate) your outcomes LONG TERM: · Mergers and consolidation · Scaling new innovative programs - co-created MVP (minimally viable product) with those with lived experience · Better engage business/for-profit via CSR (link to article we wrote - https://lnkd.in/eibWA97A · Enhance government productivity https://lnkd.in/eHCQ8hJC Here are some strategies for enhancing your board's fundraising: •Implement a Board giving campaign = 100% giving •Engage Board in fundraising; everyone can contribute even those who are uncomfortable soliciting gifts; •Have them identify prospects and make introductions – “open doors”. • Ask them to attend meetings with ED or even “ask”. •Ask them to host an event at their home or business •Give the board a revenue goal for their own fundraising- collectively, individually or both. •Ensure fundraising is in the board job description •Provide fundraising training for Board members

🎉🎉✅🤑Los Angeles food bank now delivers food to the needy. We all know someone that struggles to put food on the table from time to time. Hardship can fall upon anyone. With life's demands and keeping a roof over our heads and bills to maintain sometimes food is plentiful and sometimes scarse, food cost effects those going through hardship. no one should be without food in this country when this is a country of plentiful well the Los Angeles food bank now delivers food to those in need and those who want to cut costs on nutrition and food. This is also good for those that want to save money, for those with limited resources! don't forget to share this information with those that you know are in need it's taboo to talk about those that we know that are needy but it's an everyday occurrence. We all must eat to live! And with the price of food going up doesn't help the goal is that we all have a little bit of savings each and every month. shared resources 🙏👑
