Six days ago, Long Beach State announced it was firing head coach Dan Monson after 17 years. However, the school decided to allow him to coach out the Big West Tournament. So, he just led LBSU to the Big West title—and the school’s first NCAA Tournament berth in over a decade.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar sold his 4 championship rings, 3 MVP Trophies and other memorabilia for $2.8 million with the proceeds going to a youth education program. The hall of famer said, “when it comes to choosing between storing a championship ring or trophy in a room, or providing kids with an opportunity to change their lives, the choice is pretty simple: Sell it all.”
