This year's Mason's Twenty-Fore Straight was another hole-in-one, as the community came together for a 24-hour golf marathon to raise critical funds for families facing brain cancer. Hosted annually by TPC Sugarloaf's team, this event honors Mason, who passed away from a pediatric brain tumor and had a love for sports and the outdoors. We are extremely grateful for the unwavering dedication and support of every golfer, family, and fundraiser who made the event a success. From goodie bags filled with glow-in-the-dark golf balls to midnight treats from Waffle House and the Kona Ice truck, every moment was filled with togetherness and joy. We also want to give a special shoutout to Mason's family for creating this meaningful event and to Aden's family, who fundraise and participate each year in memory of their son Aden, who also passed away from a brain tumor. Thanks to the funds raised during this event, we can continue to drive research toward a future free of pediatric brain tumors.

I'm raising money to support the life-saving mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by participating in the St. Jude Walk/Run 2023. You can help me support the kids of St. Jude by donating today! Every dollar counts! https://lnkd.in/etTmdyZj -St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. -St. Jude is where doctors send their toughest cases because we have the best world’s best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers. -82 cents of EVERY dollar go straight to research/treatment (the other 18% supports fundraising and administrative costs) -Regardless of the duration or the cost of care, families never receive a bill from St. Jude -July 13, 2022 marked the beginning of the largest strategic investment in our 60-year history. The Six-Year St. Jude Strategic Plan commits $12.9 billion to focus on the expansion of patient care and clinical and laboratory-based research related to pediatric catastrophic illnesses, including work in cancer, blood disorders, neurological diseases, and infectious diseases. The plan calls for an additional 2,300 jobs; the expenditure of $2.3 billion in new construction, renovation, and capital needs; and the development of new research areas.

March 1st marks the launch of our 4th Annual Walk of Hope to celebrate Brain Tumour Awareness Month around the world. It also commemorates the birthday of our beautiful eldest daughter Sue, whose 56th birthday would have been on March 15th. The Walk of Hope is a simple challenge to walk 100km in 31 days and raise £100 in donations, you can take part wherever yo are in the world and you could also run or cycle if you prefer. Please help us make a difference by walking this March and help raise vital funds for brain tumour research. Sign up using the link in the comments sections... #insuesname #braintumour #charity

What does this awesome little guy have to do with lung cancer, you ask? This is one of our two dogs, Mr. Chew, and he LOVES walking at the Flowood Nature Park. I could have done better at self-care the last few years - including physical activity - and I'm working to change that. It's often easier to lace up my shoes if I have external motivators like Mr. Chew. Now, I'm adding another. Between now and October 26, 2004, I aim to raise at least $888 in support of LUNGevity Foundation. Their annual events, Breathe Deep TOGETHER and Breathe Deep ANYWHERE, are platforms for raising crucial funding to support all those living with lung cancer. I have two action items for my LinkedIn colleagues: 1) Please agree to be my "accountability partners" in my commitment to becoming more physically active while raising money to support LUNGevity's vital work, and 2) Please support my fundraiser if you can (link below). I promise to check in occasionally and keep you posted on my mileage, Mr. Chew, and my progress toward my fundraising goal. Mr. Chew says, "Whaddaya waiting for? Let's get walking!" https://lnkd.in/gQY_NgeD

Shine a Light in memory, in honour or in gratitude of that special person in your life. Their light will shine throughout December helping and inspiring Manitobans affected by cancer. How To Get Involved: 1. Make a donation of $100 to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation at ShineMB.ca in memory, honour or tribute of someone special. 2. For each $100 donation made, a light bulb will shine in recognition of the chosen honouree at the CancerCare building on McDermot throughout December. 3. You may choose to send an electronic card to the honouree or a printed card which CancerCare Manitoba Foundation will send on your behalf with a message of choice. You can also print your own blank card to give at a time of your choosing. Learn more at ShineMB.ca
