Hello, I am posting on behalf of my Mum. As many of you will know, she sadly died suddenly in May. We have had an incredible outpouring of sympathy and well wishing. With this in mind, we couldn’t fit everyone who wished to say farewell to her at the funeral due to capacity issues. We will be holding a celebration of her life on the 19th of October at the V&A Dundee. Please complete the form below if you would like to attend. Please also share as you see fit, with people I won’t be able to reach. Thanks in advance. Johnny H https://lnkd.in/eT8xwT9C Any questions please let me know directly.

What the world needs now…
They didn’t ask you what side of the fence you are on, the color jersey you wear. They didn’t ask how you plan to vote nor which policy is the most critical. They raised their hand to support and defend the ideals written that formed this nation. To support this nation, to support you, against all enemies. Their sacrifice was not for one, but for all. Honor them by living in love. Yes, love. Love for your neighbor and your community; even for yourself. Allow yourself to have a conversation, to listen, to shake a hand, and to work and build something together. Understand it was their sacrifice that allows you to choose love, as it also allows you to choose hate. But to honor them - TO HONOR THEM - choose love.

Lessons learned from Mr. D: 1. Tell your family how much you love them multiple times a day. 2. Keep the door of your home open to friends and family for a great meal and cold drink. 3. Keep the pool ice cold, not sure why but it's super memorable. 4. Coach and volunteer in your town. 5. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. - Hebrews 10:24-25 #WorshipWednesday #plnu

An interesting insight into the CPJ Field family which can trace its heritage back to 1690. As a traditional company, CPJ Field is still carrying forward its family values today. #CPJField #funeraldirectors #familybusiness #funeralarrangements #funeralhome #lutonfuneralhome #compasssionatefunerals
Every year on the 5th of November we reacquaint ourselves with the story of the Gunpowder plot. Our family, who own and run CPJ Field, have been living in Sussex for the last 50 years, but can trace our heritage back to 1690, some 85 years after the Gunpowder plot was uncovered. As a little history for you, it is unlikely that funeral directing existed as a profession until the latter parts of the 17th century indicating that our family was right at the forefront of the beginnings of funeral traditions. By 1690, Queen Mary II and King William III were on the throne of England having succeeded James II the year before when he abdicated. In this part of Sussex, the 5th of November events have a different heritage that goes much further back to the previous century, and James II great grandmother, Mary I. Mary was a staunch Catholic and the people of Sussex were particularly keen to stand up to Mary’s ideas, vehemently defending their Protestant faith. As explained in our recent blog (https://lnkd.in/euRbp9Xy), in many towns of our home county of East Sussex, we actually celebrate Nov 5th to remember the Protestants, the Sussex Martyrs, who were burned at the stake in Lewes for their faith between 1555 and 1557. History is always a fascinating aspect to traditional companies like ours, and we carry forward our family values to funeral arranging still to this day. On that note, happy Bonfire night! #5thNovember #bonfirenight #lewes #sussex #gunpowderplot #familybusiness #funeraldirectors #cpjfield
