This is a great article on protecting against scams. Every day there is a new one. Highlights: 1. If it’s too good to be true, it’s likely a scam. 2. Have a code word or phrase for your family that’s not on social media. 3. Don’t answer unknown numbers. If it’s important, they’ll leave a message. 4. Someone else’s urgency doesn’t have to be yours. Slow it all down. 5. Don’t send money to unknown people even if they have sent you some. Be alert, don’t panic, don’t stay on the phone or chat. And don’t bother talking trash to them. They don’t care and any info you give them in a irate text or call can be used in future. Some days I get so many I want to scream but I block and delete, block and delete…rinse and repeat.
