Overall, building identity correctly is extremely cumbersome in today's fragmented environment. You have to have the right data stack, need a team with expertise, and you have to have the breadth of data to reach the entirety of the open internet. For many brands and advertisers, this is a costly endeavor. It is necessary, but are the current solutions sufficient? I have been transfixed on this issue for years vexed how things work today. Currently, the buy side has to balance the paradox of getting max avails and reach while simultaneously maintaining margin and operating efficiently all while being compliant. It's likely we'll continue to see an oligopolistic identity market evolve and potentially companies to come in an intermediate.
