Who is responsible for New Hire Onboarding? The People team? The manager? The new hire? We can think about onboarding in three buckets: 🏢 Onboarding to the organization 👥 Onboarding to the team ✍🏻 Onboarding to the role Onboarding to the organization is often owned by the People team and it covers the stuff that every new hire should know--think organizational values, norms, processes, communication systems, etc. Onboarding to the team is owned by the Manager and it covers the stuff that everyone on their team, regardless of role, should know--think team norms, processes, team dynamics, communication systems, meeting structures, working styles, etc. Onboarding to the role is ultimately owned by the the employee, but is completely guided by the Manager. It covers things like role expectations, cross-functional partnerships, tools and systems, and goal setting. In every game, the first few moves are crucial. They set the tone, chart the course, and can often influence the endgame. The same applies to a new hire's journey in a company. That’s why I made sure that at QRY the employee onboarding process is seen as much more than just a necessary step; it’s a strategic move that can significantly impact our shared success. Why is investing in onboarding so important? 1️⃣ Setup for Success: A well-planned onboarding experience provides new hires with the necessary tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to perform their roles effectively. This early investment pays off in the form of increased productivity and job satisfaction. 2️⃣ Acclimation into the Business: Onboarding isn't just about learning a new job—it's about understanding the business, culture, values, and vision of the organization. This understanding helps new hires align their efforts with the company's direction, fostering a sense of belonging and commitment. 3️⃣ Driving the Company Forward: Every new hire brings a unique perspective and fresh energy to the table. By empowering them early on, we're not just investing in their individual success—we're fueling the company's momentum and paving the way for innovation and growth. We’ve built an onboarding process that doesn't just end after the first week or month. It's an ongoing process, a continuous investment into our most valuable asset—our people. We've seen first-hand how this early investment helps in nurturing a high-performing and engaged workforce, all pulling together to drive our vision forward. What's one onboarding practice that's made a difference in your organization? Let's share and learn from each other. #EmployeeOnboarding #InvestInPeople #QRYValues

🌟 Starting a new role can be a whirlwind of emotions! But, when a company nails the onboarding process, it's a game-changer. Here's how to weave your company culture into the onboarding journey: 🚀 First impressions are everything. From day one, make sure newbies feel the heartbeat of your company. Share stories that embody your values and mission. It's not just about the 'what' but the 'why' and 'how' we do things around here. 🤝 Collaboration is key. Introduce new team members to their colleagues through informal meet-and-greets or buddy systems. This isn't just about names and roles; it's about fostering connections and showing how collaboration is part of your DNA. 📚 Knowledge is power. Equip your new hires with resources that reflect your culture. Think: handbooks sprinkled with employee testimonials, videos showcasing day-to-day life, or interactive sessions that bring your core values to life. 💡 Continuous learning should be a given. Encourage questions and curiosity. Create an environment where ongoing development is part of the culture, not just an afterthought. 🎉 Celebrate the small wins. Recognise milestones in the onboarding process. It's about reinforcing that your culture values progress and effort. Remember, integrating company culture isn't a one-off event. It's a continuous journey that starts with onboarding but extends throughout an employee's career. #Onboarding #CompanyCulture #EmployeeExperience
