Some days you’ll never forget as long as you live. On the 9th July (a day that also happened to be my 36th wedding anniversary) I was hugely proud to represent our fantastic toy company and all of our multinational team at a reception at Windsor Castle for the winners of the King’s Awards for 2024. We had been honoured with the award for significant progress with respect to: 1) export growth; 2) product sustainability; and 3) employee engagement. Hosted by His Majesty The King, it was a bit surreal and my imposter syndrome raged like mad. But I managed to get a cheeky handshake and a brief chat with The King, which I will truly never forget. It’s fair to say that I was more comfortable in the pub (actually, the Windsor and Eton Brewery - very highly recommended!) afterwards, watching the football. But I loved the experience and thank the whole Sambro team for their talent and relentless hard work that enabled it.
👑King’s Awards Reception at Windsor Castle 👑 Yesterday our CEO, Paul Blackaby, went to Windsor Castle for the reception for recipients of the The King's Awards for Enterprise 2024! “I was extremely proud and very honoured to represent Sambro, and all members of our team, at a reception at Windsor Castle to celebrate being the recipient of the King’s Award for Enterprise 2024. I was fortunate to be among 300 invitees and to meet The King, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent. Subjects discussions ranged from toys (of course), sustainability, AI and football. Prudently avoiding the champagne, I can report that the apple juice (from the Royal Sandringham Estate) was delicious. " - Paul Blackaby #KingsAwards2024 #KingsAwards #SambroLife
