My latest editorial, titled "Rethinking Japan’s Health System under the Planetary Health Framework," has been published in Health System & Reform Journal. In this article, I describe the international momentum toward climate-resilient, low-carbon health systems, and delve into a critical analysis of the Japanese government's engagement in Climate Change and Health. I firmly believe that it's time for the Japanese government to take a more active role both internationally and domestically to drive essential reform for the sustainability of the health system. Climate change and health are interconnected, and addressing this connection is crucial for the well-being of our society and planet. A refreshing read for some, maybe an eye opener, or a deeply held belief for others. For me, it was a relief to find that there are thinkers who have successfully articulated a fundamental issue that, I believe demands attention and action 🌍📚 This Aeon article, co-written by Jonathan Blake & Nils Gilman explores how traditional politics fall short in tackling global challenges like climate change and inequality. It suggests that a new, more integrated approach is essential for Progress 🌱🌐 For years, I’ve reflected on these matters without finding many interested in such exchanges. We see in all the political attempts a lots of talking, sometimes an unfortunate on how to fix symptoms, and lots of failure to find agreements that could lead to meaningful changes 🤔💬 Those confronted with this kind of thought for the first time may see a hint of utopianism. I see it as an obligatory change before we can truly start to operate as a thriving species for the next 100 years 🚀🌟 Articulating such a change will require more than just political engagement; and today, businesses appear very well equipped to foster cross-border collaboration, to advocate for non-country based system and to push politics to deeply reasses themselves and get back to global strategical thinking 🏢🤝🌍 Read on: https://lnkd.in/eD-mVWpB
