Anyone else out there seek health & wellness guidance from their medical provider only to get the feedback of, “Your labs are all normal. Just watch your diet and exercise”? Or, you’re just tired because of xyz external factors? What does this even mean?!?! Am I suppose to watch my chips as I put them in my mouth (I mean, the potatoes were locally grown here in Florida so they must be good for my health! 😆) or the fat free, sugar feee yogurt that’s marketed to make me slim but is full of fat boosting additives…. As a Board Certified Functional Medicine Nurse Specialist, when I hear the above I instantly ask if I can take a look at their lab results to educate about the meaning of those labs and the difference between Standard lab value ranges and OPTIMAL lab values so they can thrive instead of just surviving 🥰 #empowerment #healtheducation #rootcausemedicine #healing #selfhealing

It’s week two of National Nutrition Month! This week, we are focused on the benefits of seeing a Registered Dietitian as part of a patient’s health journey. Season Health has the largest network of Registered Dietitians in the country - because expert clinical nutrition care is the foundational driver of effective food-as-medicine programs. And with insurance coverage, 95% of patients at Season meet with a dietitian for free. Why is RD care essential to drive health outcomes? - RDs create personalized nutrition plans for each patient in alignment with their specific health goals - RDs work in partnership with patients’ doctors and other providers, creating plans that include medication management and lifestyle - RD care goes well beyond meal planning: RDs address the unique dietary and cultural needs of each patient and provide support for sustained behavior change This 1:1 care and education empowers patients to bring actionable change into their lives, helping them to effectively manage chronic conditions while improving outcomes and lowering total cost of care.
