At Stoneweg US, we embed and live our culture daily within the framework of our 29 Fundamentals. Every week, we publish a text internally written by one of us, and we have decided to start sharing that on LinkedIn. It is the best way to show who we are and how we work, making it easy to collaborate and invest with aligned partners that share our values.
This week’s Fundamental is: CREATE A CARING COMMUNITY, and here is what we had to say about it…
"Our relationships go deeper than simply being teammates at work. We genuinely care for and about each other. Whether it’s a kind word during a tough stretch, a friendly smile each morning, or a helping hand in stressful times, show your compassion.
Creating and maintaining a caring community, every day, in everything we do is extremely important. Work is not solely about production or execution. Work is also about being part of a team that shares a common vision and purpose, in a friendly and caring environment. If we do not care for one another, we are missing the point and what we’re doing is simply a job. Showing that you care doesn’t require much. It could be as simple as saying good morning or goodnight. It is about being present, being available, listening to what others have to say, and checking in on each other to make sure that people are ok. Small gestures such as a kind word or a smile can mean so much in helping someone get through a challenging day or tough time, as we all face hurdles and difficulties as well as exceptional times in our private and professional lives.
Knowing that we belong to a caring community is important and brings tremendous value to not only the workplace, but to each one of us personally. My perception of Stoneweg US today is that we are a caring community. I see evidence of this Fundamental being practiced every day. It is part of our culture, and it is part of how we interact with each other.
For those that work remotely or mostly from home, you do belong to the Stoneweg US community, and we care for you. It may be more difficult to demonstrate daily, but I am convinced that the same sense of community extends to our remote offices and anywhere else you may be working from. Being and acting as a caring community is a key strength for our young organization. I feel extremely proud of this and will do everything I can to maintain and protect that community."
