Techstars CEO Maelle Gavet announced on LinkedIn that she is leaving the company at the end of the month for health reasons. Starting today, Techstars co-founder and board chairman David Cohen will become CEO. Gavet has had a rocky tenure at Techstars. During her time as CEO, Gavet’s leadership style was a subject of controversy, with employees and managing directors accusing her of fostering a tense work environment that led to a significant labor exodus. We had our Demo Day at #mHUB on 4/11/24. It was a packed house with many investors. Needless to say, it was a high-stake situation for #startups. Will I crash and burn and faceplant before I get up on the stage? Many random thoughts like that went through my mind. #mHUB knew that and they brought in the big gun (Jeff Rogers), provided many practice sessions, and one-on-one fine tuning two months in advance (Thierry Van Landegem, Mike Sundermeier). My takeaway, practice the right way (with coaching) until it is muscle memory (50 times). I wasn’t perfect to say the least and I should have practiced 50 more times. Nonetheless, I have a ton of follow ups post pitch. A good thing.

A few weeks ago I had the huge opportunity to sit down and talk with Nate Meir for an episode of Tech Salescraft. This week is all about building. 5 weeks in at Antler, I'm very happy with our progress, the connections we've made, the things we learned. I feel we're doing it right and all of this has been super useful to shape the vision of what we're gonna to do. But now we need to shift our focus on building. The vision is only useful to create clarity on what we should do and what we should build. Vision is important to create the cadence. Building is how we'll be out there in the world, how people can react to what do and how we can improve. Let's go build 🏗️ #startups #earlystage #founders

Thanks Max for featuring my hack I've given during VSOC. I've been experimenting for my entire adult life with many (*many*) things and I can truly say investing in people, in their growth.
