Another timely discussion about work EACH is leading which ought to be spread and delivered at scale.
We loved hosting Federal Health Minister Mark Butler MP and Member for Aston Mary Doyle MP at our Burwood Highway site in Ferntree Gully last week to talk through the challenges and opportunities of community-based healthcare – including the imminent loss of funding to Reconnexion, our specialist benzodiazepine dependency and withdrawal support service. This week, we’ll be welcoming Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah MP to our Patterson St site in Ringwood East to learn more about our customers’ needs, and especially our Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic. I assist organizations in navigating strategic pathways, overseeing financial and clinical operations, streamline revenue cycle processes and foster financial prowess and efficiency.
Partnering instead of competing and consolidating services will be a game changer for healthcare in NE PA. Giant health systems pooling resources will have the opportunity to better serve the community, but small stand-alone hospitals may struggle. Exciting to see what healthcare will look like in the next five years. #healthcare #partnerships #communityimpact

Millions of Californians who rely on Medi-Cal for health coverage are at risk of losing coverage during the post-COVID-19 redeterminations process. Already, 700,000 have been disenrolled, many due to procedural issues (not necessarily because they're ineligible), which can result in disruptions to care. California Health Care Foundation spoke with Christopher Gomez, an outreach and enrollment manager with Northeast Valley Health Corporation, on strategies to help smooth the Medi-Cal renewals process in LA County. One critical strategy is the advocacy community-based organizations, community health center consortia and partners engage in to raise awareness of the changes needed. #ValueCHCs https://lnkd.in/eDskwwne

This seems like a no brainer to me but will require some creative policy and funding to ensure the sustainability of General Practice in these communities. This is one of the topics we will be covering at the upcoming Burning GP in Kingscliff from a number of len’s with a panel of experts including Robert Grenfell Peta Rutherford Alam Yoosuff Hamish Meldrum Jay Rebbeck Check out the program here https://wildhealth.net.au The states and Commonwealth must work together to fund rural GP locums, according to Far West LHD’s boss. Employing a collaborative funding model to recruit GPs to work both in rural hospitals and in local communities, with costs shared across Commonwealth and state funding streams, could be a way of overcoming GP workforce shortages in rural and regional NSW, according to Far West LHD CEO Brad Astill. #healthequity

Program Manager at The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas | America's Essential Hospitals 2020-21 Fellow | Cancer Advocate | Nonprofit Board Member
Great conversation happening now about rural communities and the challenges we face around healthcare. Cancer care and access to that care is a large part of this. This work is hard, impacts the whole community, and needs to involve cross-sectional work. One thing that I appreciate Dr. Calhoun mentioning, we need to focus on the similarities, to help address these challenges and think of innovative ideas to tackle rural healthcare. #RuralHealthcare #EastTexas #CancerAccess
Join us for a conversation about opportunities and innovations in rural health care, happening at Tyler Junior College or online Friday, Feb. 16. We’ll talk about how communities like Tyler are taking on health care challenges, how the Texas Legislature and state agencies are supporting these efforts and how the future of health care will look in rural Texas. Speakers include: • Kirk Calhoun, MD, president of UT Tyler and board chair of UT Health East Texas • Kristina Childress, senior public health official and administrator of Angelina County and Cities Health District • Doug Curran, MD, East Texas Community Clinic and former president of the Texas Medical Association. Doors will open at noon in Tyler for lunch and the hourlong conversation will begin at 12:30 p.m. RSVP today: https://trib.it/HIR
