In BIPOC communities, there is often a history of overcoming adversity, which may make talking about mental health struggles difficult. In honor of Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month (BIPOC Mental Health Month), we are committed to uplifting the voices of underrepresented communities whose mental health and well-being have been drastically affected by systemic racism. At Otsuka, we believe in health for every mind, of every race, gender, ethnicity, condition and beyond. We are committed to creating an inclusive and equitable today for our patients, people, and communities. 💟 July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. This month serves as a crucial reminder of the unique challenges that racial and ethnic minorities in the United States face regarding mental health. 💟 Despite the growing awareness of mental health issues, disparities persist. In 2020, fewer than one in every two African American adults received the mental health care they needed. These statistics highlight the importance of continuing our efforts to break down barriers and create equitable access to mental health resources for all communities. 💫 Let's use this month to amplify voices, share resources, and support initiatives that address these disparities. By working together, we can improve the mental health outcomes of minority communities. 💫 #MentalHealthAwareness #MinorityMentalHealth #HealthEquity #BreakTheStigma #SupportMentalHealth #InclusiveHealthcare #CommunitySupport #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma

The official theme for this year's World Mental Health Day is 'Mental Health is a Universal Human Right'. This global campaign aims to engage individuals, communities, businesses, and policymakers to accelerate efforts related to mental health, recognizing that a person's mental health impacts their ability to exercise other rights such as access to support, education, right to work, social participation and overall quality of life. To make meaningful progress on this global campaign, we need to collaborate with users as equal partners in designing integrated systems that go beyond diagnosis, develop needs-based solutions that are community-focused, and promote holistic well-being. Today and every day, let us uphold mental health as a universal human right and build a healthier world free of discrimination and stigma. #MentalHealth #WorldMentalHealthDay
