We support the thesis “work hard – play hard”, so we love to sometimes break free from the daily grind and just chill out with our team. That’s how we came up with the idea of throwing movie night at the office. 🎥 😊

Heres a great game our social team ran at Bedfont Scientific Ltd yesterday as part of our 'Stress Busting' weekly activities, try it at your office, it was really fun: 1. Split staff members into teams, 2. Get each team member to write a character name (fictional or non-fictional) on 10 pieces of paper, fold them over and put in a container, 3. Each team has five minutes to complete 3 rounds 4. Each team member picks a name from the container the rest of the team have to guess the character in turn but as below in each round: - Round 1: Describe the character with as many words as you like (not the ones on the paper) - Round 2: Describe the character with only one word (not one on the paper) - Round 3: Describe the character with no words! After each round count up how many were successfully guessed and the winning team is the one with the most guessed!

The usual hum of activity in our shop came to a sudden halt. Why, you ask? Because our incredible CEO and the planning team had a delightful surprise in store for all of us! The doors closed, the phones went on silent, and in walked every single member of our team. Instead of sales pitches and reports, our meeting room echoed with laughter, deep conversations, and spontaneous outbursts of joy. The Power of Selflessness: Building Team Unity 🏆 In the heart of every team, selflessness is the key that unlocks a culture of unity and excellence. It's in the small, everyday acts that we elevate each other and strengthen the bonds that make us formidable. Consider these 3 types of examples: 1. Picking up equipment and tidying the practice area shows appreciation for the environment you work in, creating a positive and organized space for everyone to thrive. 2. Treating supporting staff with respect and gratitude, whether it's the equipment manager, medical staff, or administrative personnel, shows appreciation for everyone's contributions to the team's success. 3. On the sidelines, it's about genuinely cheering for every teammate's success, celebrating their highlights as if they were your own, and lifting spirits during rough patches. Take a moment to think about the selfless things you've done this week. Can you do more? Every act of selflessness strengthens unity, trust, and resilience, making the team stronger overall. http://drjimafremow.com

Managing Director at Aditya Group | Working Mother | Entrepreneurial Enthusiast | Mompreneur | Crafting Stories & Strategies
The other day, while waiting for my coffee in the office pantry, I stumbled into a chat with one of our newer team members. It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks and overlook the wealth of diversity and insight within our own walls. This team member, though from a completely different department and background, opened up a world of understanding for me. Our conversation danced from fresh industry trends to heartwarming personal stories, creating a bridge between our varied experiences. It served as a beautiful reminder that our own team is a treasure trove of knowledge. There are lessons to be learned in every corner of our company, from every individual – if we're just willing to pause and listen. To that wonderful colleague: Thank you. Our coffee chat reminded me of the depth and breadth of expertise that resides within our team, often waiting to be discovered. To everyone reading: When was the last time you had an unplanned, enlightening chat with a colleague? I encourage you to seek out these moments; you might just be amazed at what you find.

TEAMWORK. Imagine your team as your fellow band members. You each have your unique instruments and talents, and when you play together, you create beautiful music. It's like being in a rock band, with everyone having their moment to shine. Teamwork is like that perfectly harmonized choir at a karaoke night. It's all about different voices coming together to create something amazing, with a side of camaraderie and shared laughter. In the workplace, teamwork is like your own little Avengers squad. Each member has their superpower, whether it's crunching numbers, writing code, Marketing, or making killer presentations. When you combine these skills, you can take on any challenge, whether it's a tough project or the office potluck competition. Teamwork isn't just about getting the job done; it's about enjoying the ride together. It's like a road trip with your work buddies, with pit stops for coffee breaks and funny stories to make the journey more enjoyable. When you work as a team, you're not just colleagues; you're a support system, cheerleaders, and sometimes even comedians. It's like a workplace sitcom, with quirky characters and unforgettable moments that turn an ordinary job into an adventure. How are you making the team to come together ? #teamwork #togetherwemakeithappen #winningtogether #bringiton

How I miss those unplanned team catch-ups over a cuppa Joe. Back then, our coffee breaks were more than just about the brew; it was the secret ingredient of the team’s cohession. We'd chat about projects, art, golf, movies, and share a joke or two. In today's ever-connected world, things have changed, and I can't help but wish for those simpler times. Technology is handy, sure, but nothing beats face-to-face chats and real connections made over a good brew. I am hoping to recreate those moments soon, to keep the team spirit upbeat! So, here's to the memories of coffee-fueled chats, where ideas flowed freely. #TeamSpirit #CoffeeBreaks #Memories

Founder at ClearVoyage - I make software for ship owners and operators. Sometimes I talk about startups and shipping too
We have made some mistakes in the past. One mistake that I hope not to repeat again was from 2022 when we built and shipped a new feature which had poorly written specifications It ended up costing us a few weeks of wasted work For us, this is a substantial waste of time. We can get quite a lot done in a few weeks There was also the damage it did to team morale. Try asking your team to bin their work and do it all over again. See what effect it has The effect of team morale on the speed and quality of work is not to be underestimated. A happy team does good work quickly Finally and most importantly, it delayed the delivery of a valuable feature to our customers. So how to avoid it? In our case, an intelligent and scrupulous team member identified the problem and put himself forward as the person to hold all specifications to a higher standard. I call him the ‘Specifications Tzar’ Long live the Specifications Tzar

Empowering Leaders To Build Amazing Teams through Coaching and Feedback | Crafting Bespoke Solutions for Tomorrow's Leaders
I often work with clients who are totally committed to building a great team that drives results. But they often get stuck in making the team work functionally well and are confused how to get them to the next level. Not just survive the day but thrive together? 🤔 I need to remind my clients, it's not always about the hard skills. Often, it's the heart of the team that counts. Here are 3 steps to bring your team closer and shoot for the stars together: 1. Share Common Values, Beliefs, Bonds, and Experiences: Just like friends who stick together because they 'get' each other, your team is strongest when you share the same core values and experiences. It’s about understanding and respecting what makes each person tick. 2. Share Your Vision and Invite Others to Build on It: You've got big dreams for the team and for yourself, but they can only come to life with your input. Think of it as building a Lego castle together—everyone's ideas are blocks that add to the grand design. 3. Paint a Compelling Picture of What is Possible: Imagine achieving something so cool, you'd tell your grandkids about it. That's the goal. It’s not just about meeting targets; it's about creating something you're all proud to be part of. So, here's the thing: Let’s chat about this. What are your dreams for yourself and our team? How do you see making these big ideas a reality? Your thoughts and visions matter. Together, you can create something amazing. Let’s make work not just something we do, but something we love and feel proud of. 💪

Taking time to appreciate and connect with your team is invaluable. In the hustle and bustle of daily tasks, it's easy to get caught up in deadlines and projects. But sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is to pause, leave everything behind, and spend quality time with your team. A simple gesture, like taking your team out for lunch, can make a significant impact. It shows that you value them not just as employees, but as individuals. It fosters a sense of belonging and boosts morale, which in turn can lead to increased productivity and job satisfaction. Remember, a happy team is a productive team. Take the time to listen, appreciate, and connect with those who work alongside you. It’s these moments of recognition and togetherness that build a stronger, more cohesive team.
