Who lends a listening ear to HR? Your Board Members, CEO, Stakeholders, Managers, team members, employees, vendors, suppliers, etc wants your listening ear as a HR. They want you to hear them out regarding their happiness (Loll) - mostly unhappiness, issues, problems, needs and future telling. They also want you, to provide solutions. But who reciprocates the same for HR people? We, HR people, are also human beings with needs and wants. We also have our challenges. This is why it is important for HR people to self-counsel, seek counsel from fellow HR people, learn from others in HR media chat groups, read LinkedIn articles and sharing. It's all about self-healing, self-motivating, and self-care. In general, take care of yourself first so that you can take care of others and deliver, especially those mentioned above. For each experience gained for each self-care made, you grow your buffer, the more challenges you go through, the more buffer you build for yourself. It's a journey. Sometimes it's a lonely journey I must say, however, if you play your cards right, you'll have a fellowship of HR! Even better when you have followers, especially here on LinkedIn!!

**The Secret Life of HR: Unveiling the Myths and Realities** 🕵️♀️ Most people do not know about HR work, but that doesn't mean we are not doing anything. 🕵️♀️ Do you know why people are unaware of our roles? It's because we don't want them to know. 🤫 Our job is like that of a secret agent. 🕵️♂️ No one knows what we are doing or what our next steps are, except for our boss who understands our plan. 📋 Here are some interesting facts about the HR role: 1. Everyone feels jealous of us. 😏 Do you know why? Because our boss only shares their plans with us. 📆 Later, you might find out about the plan, but it’s executed by us. Many people then wonder why they weren't informed about the plan. 🤷♂️ 2. We are directly connected with our boss. We don't need to inform anyone, but everyone needs to inform us about everything. 📞 3. Many employees think we are the boss's pet because they believe we always speak negatively about them to the boss. But that's not true. 😌 4. When we ask for reviews, employees think we are just wasting time. Literally, no. 😅 We don't ask questions for fun. There are many important reasons behind these questions that you might not know. 🤔📊 5. Employees think HR only hires people who don’t look better than them or have fewer skills, and this mostly happens with girls. 🙅♀️👩💼👩💻 I have noticed all these things, so I thought I should share them with all HR professionals. 🗣️👥 What do you think about that? 💬 Comment below if you agree with these facts. 📝👇 ---

Retention > Recruiting Strange thing to see from a Recruiter but, it's accurate. It's important to attract new employees to your organization. It's vastly more important to retain your existing employees though. Your internal employees are the brand ambassadors, the eyes and ears of the department, and the ones keeping the work flowing. Sure, the recruitment team is always happy to take on new positions. However, if it's backfill positions in the same departments, we need to dive in a bit deeper. Employee experience is a big deal. Treat them well, pay them appropriately, and thank them for their work. #EmployeeRetention #WorkplaceCulture #RetentionStrategies #AppreciationMatters #RetentionVsRecruitment #EmployeeHappiness #ThankYourEmployees
