Romania Achieves Milestone with Patriot Missile System Live-Fire Test Romania achieved a significant milestone in its air defense capabilities with the first live-fire test of the American-made Patriot missile system, facilitated by collaboration with U.S. Army trainers. The Romanian 74th Patriot Regiment conducted the live-fire test at the Capu Midia firing range, marking a historic moment for Romania and enhancing regional security on NATO's southeastern flank. The exercises, supported by the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command, showcased Romania's progress since acquiring seven Patriot systems in 2020. U.S. Army instructors have played a crucial role in training Romanian forces to operate the complex Patriot system, a process that typically takes several years for full qualification. Romania's strategic position along the Black Sea and its partnership with the U.S. make it a critical ally in the region. NATO's annual Jump exercise integral training for the NATO Response Force - Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) "This year the obligation falls under the command of JFC Brunssum.
