2066 Retail Investors making their Red Carpet Debut? If you told the top 1% a decade ago that one of the biggest up-and-coming films of the year was funded entirely by retail investors, they'd probably laugh in your face. But thanks to the JOBS Act and Wefunder, that's exactly the case. Legion M Entertainment's up-and-coming film "My Dead Friend Zoe" is already receiving top marks with Briarcliff expecting to take the film to theatres this fall. Had a great time yesterday at a seminar with the Marketing Director of Cinema and Senior VP of Marketing Communications & Franchises at Warner Brothers! We delved into the marketing strategy behind the Barbie campaign, which was launched through a buzz campaign for movies, as discussed in Iris Mohr's article. It was interesting to learn about the various non-traditional channels used to promote the movie. We also talked about stimulating earned media by creating buzz through music and the "I am Ken" video clip. Have you seen the #RaiseYourArches campaign by McDonald's? The campaign is all about the universal appeal of McDonald's and how a simple gesture can communicate so much. The follow-up film, 'Next stop, McDonald’s' created by Leo Burnett directed by Michael Gracey, is a fun and lighthearted take on the idea. Have shared both the films back to back.
