Two students from Stanford built a home assistant using everyday materials! They used a unique method to teach it - instead of complex programming, they used demonstrations. One person would use a special remote to show the robot how to perform tasks. After about 50 demonstrations, the neural network inside could mimic the actions quite well. I find this approach fascinating! It shows how innovative teaching methods can lead to incredible results. #DIYtech #InnovationInTheMaking

Teaching isn't just telling someone about something you know. This approach would often result in them quickly forgetting it, as it's akin to hearing a story once and being unable to recall it later. Teaching in a way that helps students remember, through explanations or demonstrations, will always be more effective. However, the most impactful learning occurs when students are actively involved and if they are given the chance to apply what they are trying to learn. Here are 5 tips I've implemented: 1️⃣ Smiling and enthusiasm helps set the tone for the day. 😁 2️⃣ Make demonstrations easier to follow by changing the cursor size/color. 3️⃣ Speak at different rates for emphasis. 🐇Faster: less important 🐢Slower: more important 4️⃣ Calling on people to talk works better than asking for volunteers. 5️⃣ Avoid saying "but" after a positive statement because it negates what was just said. ❌

Thank you everyone for being so attentive!   What could be the missing link –   Demonstrations? Activities? Role Plays? Quizzes?   All of this can make your session engaging, but not complete.
