Avoid perspective distortion !!! Better select a longer focal length for your macro 📸 When you’re using a short macro lens with a focal length of 50 or 60 mm, you’ll need to get very close to your subject. This can lead to a so-called perspective distortion in your images. To avoid this, it’s best to use lenses with a longer focal length of around 100mm for full frame or around 85 for DX cameras. 🔝 Drop a comment if you agree 👇 #PerspectiveDistortion #MacroPhotography #LongerFocalLength #AvoidDistortion #SharpMacroShots #dentalphotography

https://lnkd.in/eruqy9_m Cameras can now focus themselves automatically, calculating exposure at the speed of light. It is a long way from the box camera created by George Eastman in 1888, and the photo is now moving digitally into binary bits of information.

75 years ago, Kodak developed a “new camera” that recorded digital data – on film! As described in this brief article published in January 1948, the camera recorded 12 kilobits of data per second as black and white rectangles on photographic film. The data, provided by a computer, was recorded by photographing a cathode-ray tube (CRT). After developing the black and white filmstrip, the digital data could be read using photoelectric tubes and fed back into the computer. While some might argue that this marks the 75th anniversary of the “first digital camera”, this camera did not capture images of normal scenes using an electronic sensor, instead, it captured latent images of patterns representing digital data. I have not been able to find any other information about this Kodak camera, which suggests that it was never used with any early computers. The UNISERVO tape drive, the first magnetic tape drive for computers, was introduced by Remington Rand along with the UNIVAC I computer in 1951. See https://lnkd.in/gHXPKFUf Magnetic tape had the advantage of being immediately readable using the same device, with no need for a chemical darkroom near the computer room. Decades later, Kodak successfully commercialized a very different system for recording computer information on film. Introduced in the 1970s, the Komstar family of microimage processors used a laser to record computer data on microfilm. The Komstar processor included a heated metal drum which developed the microfilm without chemicals. See https://lnkd.in/gymbtCmK Kodak’s “new camera” may have been a variation of the Eastman Television Recording Camera introduced in 1947. This “kinescope” was a 16mm motion picture film camera which recorded images of a live TV broadcast from a CRT. It allowed TV networks to replay their programs during a later time slot for viewers in different time zones, or at a later date. By 1954, the TV industry was using more film than Hollywood. The SWIR Camera Photography Process and How Multispectral Images Are Created
📣 Announcing New White Paper “The SWIR Camera Photography Process and How Multispectral Images Are Created” SWIR camera verification test tips Based on the example of photographing nuts, we introduce the imaging process, provide useful techniques, and explain how to create multispectral images. Ideal for performing verification tests on cameras using SWIR image sensors. 👉 Download here: https://lnkd.in/dExwFBf3 Utilization for contaminant detection In food product manufacturing, inspection for contaminants is essential. But when contaminants have a similar color and form to the food product itself, differences are difficult to distinguish with only visible light. SWIR image sensors use the characteristics of the short-wave infrared spectral band to easily identify different materials. 👉 Discover more: https://lnkd.in/dvWgAAsv #Sony #semiconductor #imagesensor #sonysemicon
