A new e/MTIC about non-invasive cardio measurements is ready to start! This €𝟮.𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 involves the e/MTIC ecosystem partners: Eindhoven University of Technology, Catharina Hospital Eindhoven, and Amazec Photonics. The project will run for 60 months and be jointly managed by all partners to ensure an optimum outcome. 👉 Thermodilution is today's most widely used method to measure cardiac output. It involves injecting a known volume of liquid upstream of the heart and measuring temperature changes downstream. However, one of the disadvantages is its unreliability during routine examinations. 👉 Determining a patient's circulating blood volume status is essential for understanding complex 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲. 👉 𝗜𝗻𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺 is a state-of-the-art project that utilizes 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 to enable non-invasive thermodilution-based analysis. 🔬 Electrophysiology in Action: A Precise Approach to Treating Atypical Atrial Flutter ⚡ I’d like to share this video showcasing the power of advanced technology in tackling complex arrhythmias. This case involves an atypical atrial flutter, where electroanatomic mapping is crucial for identifying the reentry circuits and key areas for ablation. With cutting-edge systems like Carto by Biosense Webster , we can accurately target the affected zones and perform safer, more effective ablations. Precision in treating atypical atrial flutter is essential to minimize recurrences and improve long-term outcomes. Johnson & Johnson MedTech | Electrophysiology

Contrary to the usual posts about attending a conference, this is one that I won't be at! However, some of my exceptional colleagues will be attending the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) conference later this month (18-21 January) and would love to talk with you about all things neural interfacing, connected implants, and the digital ecosystem these smart devices enable. Speak with Ken Rys, Zoran Milijasevic, and Edmond Capcelea about the technical challenges of developing implants and connected systems, or with Rachel Rakvica and John Genova about the commercial and business strategy for getting new neurotech to market. #neurotech #neuromodulation #neurostimulation #NANS24

The energy of investment and innovation was alive and well in Dana Point yesterday at the LSI Emerging Medtech Summit. With a slow return to a more normal flow of deals, a result of $1.2 Trillion in equity available and the 8% profitability growth of market leaders in our segment. This increasing availability of cash and M&A, combined with the innovations being unleashed in Neurology, connectivity, and AI, is creating palpable energy at this meeting. Innovators listening to the advice of Neil Shah and Raymond Cohen, whose successful exits are what all of these innovators are working hard to create. A key takeaway for me is that the expansion of Catheter-based Neurosurgery means that neurology is poised for an explosion of innovation, just like Cardiology and Vascular have been in the last couple of decades. #LSI24

🏥 Taking an XRay while moving? Yes, it is now possible thanks to a revolutionary leap in bone imaging called Dynamic Digital Radiology (DDR). Physicians have the ability to observe the dynamic interaction of knee, shoulder or spine bones in motion - revealing unparalleled accuracy in diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions. It is happening at Europe’s 1st Dynamic Imaging Center in Bern, Switzerland. This is a collaboration between the Swiss Institute for Translational Medicine and Entrepreneurship (sitem-insel AG) and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa). Welcome to a new era of precision in bone imaging, transitioning from static pictures to the equivalent of a dynamic video presentation. Advancing #neurovascular planning and rehearsal through #simulation technology... During the World Live Neurovascular Conference 2024, Dr. Demetrius Lopes, Director of the Cerebrovascular and Comprehensive Stroke Center at Advocate Health Care, presented groundbreaking advancements in simulation technology for daily clinical practice. Dr. Lopes demonstrated how Mentice clinical decision support application, virtual simulation platform, and physiological flow systems together can empower neurointerventionalists to enhance patient care through improved decision-making, patient-specific treatment planning, and procedural proficiency - ultimately leading to better outcomes in neurovascular interventions. “By importing patient CTA or MRI datasets, you can construct both physical and virtual anatomy models to conduct case-specific simulations. This immersive approach enables hands-on rehearsal with the actual device in the angio suite, offering invaluable insights and planning opportunities before the real procedure.” Dr. Lopes highlights the immense potential of integrating simulation into everyday neurovascular practice to optimize workflows and improve patient experiences.
