The healthcare system rapidly adopted digitization to simply and enhance work-related processes. At Cedars-Sinai Brawerman Nursing Institute, we quickly realized that the manual administrative processes in the Nursing Education and Professional Development department needed to drastically transform to keep up with the complex and rapidly changing work environment, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn how Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practitioners used the KOTTER INTERNATIONAL, INC change management model to transform daily operations digitally, that led to reduced administrative workload, which resulted to increased in NPD practitioners scope of practice work such as scholarly work and collaborative partnerships. When we work smarter, not harder, efficiency and productivity raises the bar to practicing excellence in human caring. https://lnkd.in/ghVgVwsG What are the different innovations happening in your areas? Congratulations to Sinai Health’s Dr. Lianne Jeffs, Research and Innovation Lead and Scholar in Residence, and Jane Merkley, Executive Vice President, Chief Nurse Executive & Chief Operating Officer and Sarabeth Silver, Clinical Nurse Specialist, on receiving funding from CIHR for their project Examining and Exploring the Implementation and Impact of a Leadership Intervention on Work Life and Fundamental Care Delivery. Quality gaps continue to exist in delivering fundamental care and leadership interventions aimed at embedding fundamental care into practice remains under-researched. Their project aims to address this gap by evaluating the impact of an evidence informed, co-designed fundamental care leadership intervention as a key strategy to strengthen the nursing profession and optimize quality fundamental care. https://bit.ly/3zA5093

A collabronaut and possibilitarian! Big picture, innovative thinking aiming to solve healthcare challenges. Accelerating knowledge. Professional Chaos Coordinator! Making Magic Happen.
Today's thoughts: Intrigued by mental models, my ears perked up when a colleague mentioned Max De Pree's quote: "By ourselves we suffer serious limitations. Together we can be wonderful.” This resonates in our fast-paced, interconnected world, especially in nursing where collaboration is key for comprehensive care. Embracing collective wisdom & teamwork in healthcare - Max De Pree's philosophy is crucial in nursing. The collaborative nature of healthcare, with interprofessional teamwork among nurses, doctors, therapists, and others, highlights the importance of teamwork for optimal patient outcomes. Why collective wisdom and interprofessional collaboration matter for nurses - In healthcare's complexity, an interprofessional team's collective wisdom is transformative. It unites various healthcare disciplines for effective patient care. This collaboration ensures a holistic view of patient care, integrating diverse professional insights. The strength of interprofessional teamwork in high-performing nursing teams - High-performing nursing teams excel not just in skills but in integrating these with other healthcare professionals' expertise. This enhances patient care quality and safety. De Pree's philosophy encourages nurses to work in concert with others for superior patient outcomes. Looking at the bigger picture in healthcare through interprofessional collaboration - Nursing, integral to patient care, is part of a broader healthcare ecosystem. Valuing interprofessional collaboration, nurses contribute more effectively to patient care plans, ensuring a holistic health approach. Applying this to nursing and interprofessional culture - Cultivating a culture of interprofessional collaboration is essential in modern healthcare. Nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals respecting each other's contributions lead to improved patient outcomes and innovative healthcare solutions. Join the conversation: nurses and interprofessional teamwork - Nurses, how do you engage in interprofessional collaboration? Share examples where this collaboration improved patient care. Let's discuss the importance of teamwork across nursing disciplines. #Nursing #Teamwork #InterprofessionalCollaboration #MaxDePree #Healthcare #PatientCare #Leadership #Innovation #HighPerformingTeams #CollectiveWisdom

Growing generations of nurse advocates | We fight for issues that frustrate you, by being a platform that empowers you. | Media Training
What do Captain Kirk and Fellow Kristy Fillmore, MScN, RN, NPD-BC, CPHQ have in common? Both "go where no (wo)man has gone before". There are (3) barriers to #nursesinmedia 1. Lack of comprehensive media policies 2. Lack of media training opportunities 3. Lack of streamlined media request management To overcome these barriers, Kristy has spent the past 12 months of her Advocacy Institute Fellowship developing a first-of-its-kind "Amplifying Nurses Voices in Media: Policies, Recommendations, and Guidelines" document for nurses, PR & communication teams, and healthcare organizations. This document will create avenues for amplifying nurses' voices, enabling the nursing profession, their associations, and healthcare institutions to promote positive narratives that influence public perception, drive advocacy for improved health and healthcare, and empower nurses to influence health policy. Our 2025 Fellow will continue Kristy's work by: 1. Connecting with nursing leadership and communication departments to advocate for proposed recommendations. 2. Engaging in conversations with media & PR experts regarding barriers to nurses in media. Apply to the 2025 Advocacy Institute Fellowship - Nurses in Media today: https://lnkd.in/gmzjsYUE
