Self-Care Caring For Others Reflecting on a meaningful and humbling weekend, when I had the honour to lead a self-care workshop in my immediate community. It brought together residents from diverse backgrounds. During our time together, I shared a series of simple yet powerful self-care practices focusing on 4 simple steps: 1) Pause, 2) Breathe, 3) Move, and 4) Cultivate Positive Emotions. When woven into our daily routines, these practices gently guide us toward a happier, healthier version of ourselves. For those already immersed in the art of self-care, I invite you to take a meaningful step further — to extend your care to others within your community. Take a moment to connect with someone who might need a simple check-in or support. In our intricately connected world, these seemingly small acts of kindness create a ripple effect, nurturing a more compassionate, caring, and resilient society. Brewer #CaringForOthers #Community 🌱💙

Hi Everyone, We've been a bit quiet lately, but for good reason. May was buzzing with activity, and we found ourselves longing for more face-to-face conversations on the sidewalk, building real-life connections. We're finding our rhythm again and wanted to express our deep gratitude for welcoming all kinds of diversity here, including diversity of thought without shutting people out. To all the amazing listeners who are out there elevating #CommunityHealth, reducing #loneliness, and championing #SocialHealth through Sidewalk Talk—you are truly the OGs of #SocialPrescribing. Social prescribing is all about holistic health, allowing medical providers to recommend activities like art-making, community volunteering, hiking, and joining singing clubs. Sidewalk Talk has been ahead of the curve, creating bonds and fostering listening on sidewalks for 9 years. We’ve been connecting communities and corporate teams since 2015, and research confirms what we've always known—the world needs this. So, yes, we're bragging a bit. We believe we’re the original social prescribers, following our intuition that the world needed us then, and it still does now. When will you start listening? PS: Exciting news! We have two new cohorts for our 11-week HEAR Training starting soon. Dates to be announced in a few days. Join us weekly to fortify your heart in these divisive times. You will feel so much better. You will learn listneing, embodiment, and conflict skills. Add your name to the link in our bio or click here: https://lnkd.in/erX9NYfa. You sidewalk listeners ROCK! #SocialPrescribing #SocialHealth #ListeningHeals #CommunityWellness #CommunityHealth
