With over 1700 attendees and countless sessions, here are three key insights that stood out: 1️⃣ The Digital Learning Core Is Thriving: Online schools, hybrid models, and digital courses are not just growing but innovating at a rapid pace. Despite misconceptions, these programs are becoming increasingly mainstream and are continuously evolving to meet diverse student needs. 2️⃣ Expansion Beyond the Core: DLAC showcased a broader spectrum of digital programs, including dual credit, CTE, and microschools, blurring the lines between traditional and digital education. 3️⃣ Global Trends in Digital Learning: With attendees from 15 countries, it's clear that digital learning is a global phenomenon. Overseas developments may even surpass those in the US, suggesting potential leapfrogging in educational innovation. Tomorrow, Thursday, September 21, kicks off the start of the 2-day Digitally Engaged Learning Conference, hosted both in London and New York as well as online. DEL is a small-scale, friendly conference that creates a critical and reflective space at the intersection of creative disciplines in higher education, teaching, learning, and digital technologies. The conference provides opportunities to test, share, and discuss emerging forms of pedagogy, art and design practice, and research. This year's theme is Realities and Futures; digital education constantly pushes forward, and our futures have yet to be written. As we ponder potential futures, digitally engaged learning in art and design demands discussions on inclusive learning and teaching, decolonizing educational technologies, and the optimal balance of online and offline teaching. The title of tomorrow's keynote, presented by Kwamou Eva Feukeu, is "Would you leave your future(s) in the hands of someone else’s?"
