NAIDOC Week is a time to recognise and celebrate the rich history, culture, knowledge, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders. At OES we seek to embrace a deeper understanding of Australia’s Indigenous heritage and work always towards a more inclusive future. This year's theme 'Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud' is a nod to the vitality and endurance of culture and represents an unapologetic celebration of identity. We believe that supporting events and the arts plays an integral part in amplifying voices, appreciating culture, and keeping that fire burning. This year we were thrilled to welcome first nations singer songwriter Madi to share her storytelling through performing her original works. It’s safe to say Madi’s performance was nothing short of magic and we feel lucky to have hosted her visit to our Cremorne office. OES, through its Workplace Giving Program, proudly partners with Youth Projects. One of Youth Projects’ key services is The Living Room, a primary health service that provides free healthcare and support to improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. In response to the Living Room Warm Hearts 24 Winter Coat Drive, OES staff generously donated over 80 coats, along with a large number of beanies, scarves, and Hothands Warmers. Last Friday, Kate McCulloch, Fleur Johnson and John McPhee from OES’s Corporate Social Responsibility Team delivered these donations to the Living Room in Hosier Lane, where they were unpacked and prepared for immediate distribution. #CSR #TheLivingRoom
