As I prepare for the end of this internship, I learned the value of professionalism and office etiquette throughout my amazing internship experience, where I was able to actively participate in a professional work environment. My understanding of professional behavior, time management, teamwork, and clear communication has improved as a result of this experience. I was able to learn about office dynamics, understand corporate culture, and adjust to various work environments thanks to this internship opportunity. Through this experience, I've been able to build the foundation for my potential career growth and knowledge. With my experience in several areas of this industry, including dispatch, route planning, and warehouse management for three months in each department. Dispatch department; As an employee of this department, I had the opportunity to work with two of the most widely utilized pieces of software: SAP S/4 HANA and Stratopod, which provide easy analysis and control of logistical movements. I got a chance to learn about SAP invoicing. Warehouse department; Working at the warehouse, I got to do stock taking which was conducted monthly also participated in the financial year end stock take, Create a purchase order for the plants, issue out samples for the sales reps Assisting with SAP transaction Capturing of orders from production Route Planning. This is where I got to learn that the Sales Reps, the warehouse and the dispatch department need to work closely to meet the customers' demands. Working in this department highlights what the sales department does which is order entry and order validation; then carrier selection based on the capability, reliability and service levels which is done by the route planner; then it continues to the warehouse department which deals with selecting the ordered items from inventory, and loading them according to the picking slip; lastly it continues to the distribution team that then creates the billing documents and the order will be delivered the customer Through Youth Employment Services, I completed a 12-month quality work experience. ⭐ Learnings & Exposure during Internship ⭐ 😊 Hello Connections as you know currently I am getting exposure as Finance & Accounts Intern in one of the established organizations in the Home Appliances Industry. Analyzing the procurement-to-payment cycle in organization to show the importance of vendor management, cost analysis, and strategic planning are. 👉 Following 10 stages are involved in Procurement to Payment Cycle : 1) Finance Department receives request for purchase : We Received a request for purchase from a department. A department representative or requestor submits a purchase requisition form or request online. 2) Approval: We Review the purchase request and verify budget availability. The request moves through an approval workflow, with designated approvers signing off at each stage. 3) Vendor Selection: Now starts the process of choosing a vendor, requests bids, and assesses them according to their quality, price, and other criteria. Vendor quotations and evaluation criteria are compared and that particular vendor is marked. 4) Purchase Order: Then we generate a purchase order (PO) once the vendor is selected and approved. A PO document is created and sent to the vendor, outlining the goods or services to be purchased, quantities, prices, and terms. 5) Goods Receipt: Later on we tracked the receipt of goods against the PO. And updates are made to the system as goods are received, indicating quantities received and any discrepancies. 6) Invoice Processing: We Match vendor invoices with POs and goods receipts, verifies accuracy, and processes for payment. Invoices are matched against POs and goods receipts in the system, with discrepancies flagged for resolution. 7) Payment Authorization: In this stage we review and approve invoices for payment. The authorization process explains how invoices are approved, with final approval coming before payment is processed. 8) Payment Processing: Now Processes payments to vendors. Payment transactions are initiated and recorded in the accounting system, reflecting the outflow of funds. 9) Record Keeping: Maintaining records of procurement transactions for financial reporting and auditing purposes. Documents, including purchase orders, invoices, and payment records, are filed and organized for easy recovery. 10) Analysis and Reporting: Now we analyze procurement data and prepare reports on spending, budget variances, and vendor performance. Reports and dashboards on procurement information and trends can help identify opportunities for improvement. However, her cross-departmental challenges are distinct from those of other interns. Not only does she need to check document details, but she also needs to manage external logistics aspects. These seemingly small tasks require Esther's skills and teamwork to ensure accuracy. [Behind-the-Scenes of Customer Service] Esther sees herself as an integrator, weaving processes and trade knowledge together to ensure that every product reaches its destination smoothly. She not only provides the safe transportation of products but also needs cross-departmental communication and attention to detail. Putting all her effort into the shipment process is like crafting a symphony, where various elements come together like musical notes on a sheet—a symphony in progress, even without sound. < SAP #STAR intern diary - 08.28~09.01> I attended Senior's presentation. It was really cool to see a two-hour presentation that flowed so smoothly. I realized that it takes heavy labor to make a PPT pretty. In SAP, we have what we call dry runs, where we practice our presentations consistently, and it's a great way to get our thoughts together. Why did my boss dictate this? Is it right to copy someone else's presentation style? How should I express my understanding?" is always a concern. #STAR interns spend about 10% to 15% of their time on STAR intern activities in addition to their regular jobs. I work in the International networking team, and I'm in charge of the Korean liaison for an event called APJ/Global events, which gathers #STAR interns from Asia every few months. I spent 2-3 weeks preparing for the event, but on the day of the event, unfortunately, the breakout room in 마이크로소프트 didn't work properly, so I was very disappointed that part of the event went wrong. I want to do better next time and hope to interact more with SAP #STAR Interns overseas. This week, I participated in an internal activity called Customer Advisory Extended Management. As I am interested in learning, I chose the growth team. There were three #STAR interns, Eliot Lee, Chung Yeon You, and myself. I was grateful for the opportunity to be influenced by leaders within SAP Korea Customer Advisory such as Mr. HyungSup(HS) Kim and young and emerging talents. While observing the in-depth discussions on how to grow, I tried to add my opinions on strengthening life and soft skills. After the ceremony, I joined the dinner party. I heard a lot of interesting things. Among them, there are a few that I remember, such as that I am a #Maniac. It was a great way to recognize my intense focus and immersion in one thing. There are two sides to everything, so the advice was to be a generalist who is interested in the world around you even if you are a specialist. I want to be a pie-shaped person, which means I want to combine three fields: one specialized field, one soft skill, and one generalist. I learned about a new position called #Coe, and we shared a conversation about the challenges of going to college during the coronavirus. This conversation lasted for five hours. It made me think about what I can contribute to a company where "I can do whatever I want to do".

Meet our Summer Trainees! 🌞 Summer Trainees Janna (right) and Kreetta (left) are working in Customer Service at the Tampere Office. Their responsibilities include order processing, invoicing, and export documentation, among other things. "We act as intermediaries between many parties, such as our customers and our internal Sales and Logistics teams," explains Janna. Outside of work, Janna and Kreetta are students at Tampere University, where Janna studies business and marketing, and Kreetta studies business and social sciences. Company values were important factors for Janna when applying for summer jobs. "I applied to UPM because this company's values resonate with my own, which is really important to me." Kreetta adds that sustainability values sparked her interest in the company. "Here at UPM, sustainability values are quite prominent, so that's why I was interested in UPM". Both agree that as a big global company, UPM offers a lot of opportunities towards an international career. According to Janna and Kreetta, working at UPM has been challenging but fun. "The best parts have been the successes and being able to overcome even the trickiest situations," says Janna.
