In May Calzedonia Portugal presented the new swimwear and beachwear collection by the sea, at an unforgettable sunset party. With the motto "That Summer Feeling", that brought together the Portuguese ambassadors and many other guests for a lively evening of getting to know all of this summer's trends. Marked by a beach atmosphere, decorated in shades of white and beige and some wooden details that were incorporated into various lines of the collection to be presented, as well as in the photocall, the Salty Club beach club in Costa da Caparica was the trendy venue chosen for this event. Guests could also be surprised with a personalization of Shell Hair Clips and Macramé, while enjoying the late afternoon by the sea. To the sound of Digerido and DJ Rhama Music, with various live acts, the event took on even more color and life.

Romance is in the air as Qixi Festival approaches, falling this year on August 22nd. Inspired by Chinese mythology, the festival can be traced back more than 2,000 years. It is centred around the myth of two star-crossed lovers; Zhinu, the daughter of a goddess, and Niulang, the mortal she falls in love with. The lovers are separated by Zhinu’s goddess mother, but are able to reunite once a year during Qixi Festival when magpies form a bridge connecting heaven and Earth. In recent years, brands including Loewe, Clarins, Laneige and Moschino have honoured this myth in their advertising campaigns. This year, several brands have even featured real-life couples, highlighting their love as something for consumers to emulate. Louis Vuitton featured husband and wife team supermodel Xi Mengyao and entrepreneur Mario Ho in the run up to the festival, while Balenciaga shared a sweet video featuring a couple from Shanghai. Fashion houses and beauty brands alike are well aware of the importance of this festival for their Chinese consumers. During the 2022 festival, sales for popular gifts soared by 103% for lipstick, 280% for gold jewellery and 400% for fashion compared to the year before.
