OMD has once again been named the best performing global media network in RECMA’s Diagnostics report for the sixth consecutive edition and has widened its lead over its nearest competitor to a historic level. OMD’s performance led RECMA to declare that “OMD has no direct competitor today” among global media agency networks. In the region, OMD APAC has retained the #2 spot in the overall diagnostics report for Asia Pacific (up from #6 in 2020); has the best performance in compitches over the last 3 years; is #2 in digital, data, and tech expertise; and is #2 in vitality (up from 3 in the last edition and closing the gap to the top spot). So... with all this growth and billions in billings, the #media #adgame is doing well. Here's a few thoughts: Competencies: Media COEs drive the #creative process more. There's more strategic decision-making for those in media investment or planning. This is a long-earned win for the industry. This is a positive step towards aligning with how people use #advertising to make #brand and #purchase decisions. Agency Model: In 2024, #brand clients want speed, cost efficiency, and strategic insight. Agencies address speed with account management and #creative production, cost efficiency through media planning and ad testing, and strategic insight through a merging of both. Strategic vs. Validation Research: Clients are leaning towards fact-based #strategic #insight and #consultation for their campaigns, instead of simply validating daily #ROI and #incrementality. RECMA's Diagnostics report once again names OMD as the best-performing global media network for the sixth consecutive report, and a breakdown of the global ranking positions OMD as the best-performing agency in EMEA, Central East Europe, the Nordics, and North America. OMD's outstanding performance has significantly extended its lead over its nearest competitor and RECMA declared that "OMD has no direct competitor today" among global media agency networks. The report highlights OMD as ‘Dominant’ in EMEA markets; the UK, Greece, Italy, Germany, Sweden and Turkey as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Peru, and the USA. (NYSE: OMC) and parent company to the OMD, PHD and Hearts & Science global media agency networks, had the best 2023 net new business record (wins-losses) among global media management groups, marking the second consecutive year that OMG has outperformed its competitors in incremental billings won. The report from RECMA (the Research Company Evaluating the Media Agency Industry), OMG earned its encore as the #1 ranked global media network by adding close to $3 billion in net new business.  Additionally, OMG was the only holding company media group to show positive net new business gains across every global region; and was also the #1 ranked group in EMEA and LATAM. OMG's #1 ranking was fueled by outstanding performances in 2023 by its agencies, with Hearts & Science, OMD, and PHD all ranked among the top five for net new business among global agency networks – making OMG the only media agency group to have all of its agency brands in the top five; and the only group with more than two agencies among the top 10. Hearts & Science Earns its First #1 Ranking Fueled by more than $1 billion in new business wins - including the global Jaguar Land-Rover business, Allwyn, Horizon Pharma, and the Virgin Voyages global consolidation - and with a win/loss ratio of 6:1 - Hearts & Science earned its first #1 ranking in its eight-year history. Punching above its weight, OMG's youngest and still expanding network outperformed agencies with significantly larger global footprints and market share to claim its place in a statistical tie at the top of the network ranking.
