🚺 Today, on International Women in Engineering Day, we celebrate all women #engineers at #Ubotica and encourage more women to pursue a career in the growing #Space economy. Rosana Rodríguez-Bobada Aranda, Senior Applications Engineer at #Ubotica talks about her engineering career. 🔹What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering? 🗣️For me, since I went deeply into concepts and some subjects, it was to help (a group of people, the world) through my job. Having the knowledge to use the technology to help. 🔹What advice would you give to young women considering a career in engineering? 🗣️My advice is to trust yourself and don't pay attention to the stereotypes and popular opinion about women in technology. 🔹What accomplishment are you most proud of in your career? 🗣️To be able to work hard, grow professionally and get to work in a company like Ubotica: pioneer, at the edge, and in my opinion and for me, where every day of work is a challenge. 🔹What motivates you to keep pushing forward in your career? 🗣️Having the knowledge to use technology to help others, was my motivation to study engineering. Innovation drives change in our society. 💡 And most innovation results from people in the fields of science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (or STEAM, for short!). When the people who dominate these fields do not represent EVERYONE in society, the resulting innovations will be suboptimal at best, and harmful at worst. 😒 It may be 2023, but still not enough women are at the decision-making tables of STEAM organisations. 🧑💼 And those women who do make it into these powerful positions tend to leave these roles at a much higher rate than men. 👋🏽 This is one of the reasons why we founded the #WEnnovate community.
