Power to officers! 👊👊👊 Too many hard fought planning applications are overturned on precarious grounds at committee, causing needless cost and delay to much needed development and growth. The devil will be in the detail, of course, but some interesting rumours surround the next NPPF… #development #housing #planning

The planning profession often intersects with politics, as urban planning decisions can have significant political implications. Planners may work for government agencies or private firms and provide expertise in areas such as land use, transportation, and zoning regulations. They can influence policy and development projects, which can be politically sensitive. Political references in planning might include understanding local government structures, collaborating with elected officials, and navigating the regulatory landscape. It is essential for planners to be knowledgeable about local politics to ensure that their proposals align with community values and political priorities.

Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Despite the challenges, Planners are the unsung heroes shaping the future of our infrastructure. Your dedication and expertise make a lasting impact. The hurdles shouldn't dishearten them; their commitment is crucial in building a better tomorrow for us all. They should keep going, and know that their efforts are truly appreciated! A sustainable and inclusive future is non-negotiable and undefeatable!
Planners play a vital role in helping to deliver the infrastructure the UK needs. However, they're often a target of abuse from the public, with reports of planners being approached in the street or their pictures being shared online. The Royal Town Planning Institute has launched a campaign, It Takes Planner &, to tackle the issue. 🚫 Read more about the campaign and how you can help at the link ⬇ https://lnkd.in/gPG6bzvg #PlannersAnd #BuiltEnvironment
