Recently in class, we learned of the importance of liquid natural gas (LNG), especially in Europe. It's dense, energy-rich nature make it a reliable source of power for many countries. BP reports that the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim Project, which seeks to produce a substantial amount of LNG, has passed a significant milestone in the floating liquid natural gas vessel (FLNG) at the Mauritania and Senegal maritime border. The production could help numerous countries, which is part of the reason I grew to love PGE, a global industry with impacts at all scales. https://lnkd.in/gHjtYvd9 #pge301

The United States trades liquefied natural gas (LNG) with more than 40 countries. The United States has been a net exporter of LNG since 2016. The large buildout of LNG export capacity enabled LNG exports to grow from an annual average of 0.5 Bcf/d in 2016 to 11.9 Bcf/d in 2023. Currently, the United States has seven LNG export terminals in operation and five terminals under construction. In 2023, the United States was the world’s largest LNG exporter. By the end of this year, two new LNG export facilities—Plaquemines LNG and Corpus Christi LNG Stage 3 (an expansion of the existing Corpus Christi LNG export terminal)— will start LNG exports. (U.S. net natural gas exports remain flat in the first half of 2024 – Today in Energy – EIA (U.S. Energy Information Administration) – September 25th 2024) #LNG #liquefiednaturalgas #LNGtrade #USLNGtrade #USLNGexports

#MilestoneMoment - A befitting cap for 2023 - Tango FLNG receives first gas Oil and Gas Giant Eni has achieved the introduction of gas into the Tango Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility moored in Congolese waters late last year - This was achieved just 12 months after taking FID on the Congo LNG project. Following completion of the commissioning phase, Tango FLNG will produce its first LNG cargo by the first quarter of 2024, placing the Republic of Congo on the list of LNG-producing countries. The Tango FLNG facility has a liquefaction capacity of about 1 billion cubic meters per year (BCMA) and is moored alongside the Excalibur Floating Storage Unit (FSU), using an innovative configuration called "split mooring," implemented here for the first time in a floating LNG terminal. Congo LNG will monetize gas resources from the Marine XII permit and reach around 4.5 bcm/yr of plateau gas liquefaction capacity under a phased development, with a target of zero routine gas flaring. A second FLNG facility with a capacity of about 3.5 BCMA is currently under construction and will begin production in 2025. The entire volume of LNG produced will be marketed by Eni. #gasproduction #congo #lng #flng #oilandgasindustry

🇵🇭 🚢 PHL emerges as ‘new frontier’ in LNG market THE country’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) market is gaining ground, attracting strong interest from producers and traders overseas. “The Philippines is emerging as a new frontier LNG market,” it said, while noting that the country’s LNG imports could increase up to 22 mtpa (million ton per annum) if and when all seven LNG planned terminals are completed. Two LNG facilities have already been completed. These are FGen LNG Corp.’s interim floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) LNG terminal, with a capacity of 5.26 mtpa, and Linseed Field Corp.’s FSRU and onshore regasification project, with a capacity of 3mtpa. https://lnkd.in/gehhCcgP #LNG #FSRU #Fgen

U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports will continue to lead growth in U.S. natural gas trade as three LNG export projects currently under construction start operations and ramp up to full production by the end of 2025. U.S. LNG exports will increase 2% in 2024 to average 12.2 Bcf/d. In 2025, EIA forecasts that LNG exports grow by an additional 18% (2.1 Bcf/d). In 2024–25, existing U.S. LNG export facilities will run at similar utilization rates as in 2023. Annual maintenance typically occurs in the spring and fall, when global LNG demand is lower and temperatures are mild. Plaquemines LNG Phase I and Corpus Christi Stage 3 will begin LNG production and load first cargoes by the end of the year. In 2025, the developers of Golden Pass LNG plan to place in service the first two trains of this new three-train LNG export facility. (U.S. natural gas trade will continue to grow with the startup of new LNG export projects – Today in Energy – EIA (U.S. Energy Information Administration) – April 17th 2024) #LNG #USLNGexports #USLNGterminals #naturalgas #liquefiednaturalgas

Helping customers through the #energytransition and maximising growth in #chemicals markets, whilst achieving #sustainability goals with data and intelligence services from ICIS
With 40% of all #European #gas supply being delivered as #LNG, it is becoming crucial to track developments in this market. #ICIS team of Energy Experts put together this Trade Flow Report to provide visibility on the most important events. 3 top highlights: 1. Freeport LNG Terminal: The Freeport LNG terminal in the US experienced debottlenecking work, which caused a delay in LNG shipments. Feedgas nominations were revised down, leading to reduced LNG exports from the US. The market activity and shipping rates remained stable during this period. 2. Balticconnector Pipeline: The Finland-Estonia Balticconnector pipeline will be in commercial use from 22 April. This pipeline will enhance gas transmission between Finland and the Baltic countries, reducing reliance on LNG imports. 3. Oman LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement: Oman LNG has finalized a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Turkey's BOTAS for 1 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG. The SPA will run for 10 years starting in 2025. Read the full Report here.
