Hey everyone! I wanted to share a valuable resource I started using to aid with Career and Job searching. A job tracker spreadsheet! Although it seems more time-consuming, using a spreadsheet has helped me stay organized with the ability to see valuable statistics and note company values. Looking for careers in IT can be an overwhelming task. There are hundreds of certifications and a spreadsheet is an easy way to narrow down interests to ensure that your valuable time is used effectively. I've linked the spreadsheet I purchased, but there are several types on Etsy to fit the needs of your Career and Job search journey! #opentowork https://lnkd.in/gSPW_FK7

Automated job application tools: a godsend or a disaster waiting to happen? I've been a traditionalist when it comes to job hunting. Manual searches, personalized cover letters, the works. But recently, I've been hearing a lot about these automated job application tools. Some swear by them, others swear at them. So, I decided to do some digging. Here's what I found. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟓 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬: 1) They lack personal touch. 2) They may apply to jobs that aren't a good fit. 3) They might miss out on networking opportunities. 4) They can seem impersonal to potential employers. 5) They can't answer specific questions on applications. On the flip side, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟓 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭: 1) They save time. 𝐴 𝑙𝑜𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑖𝑡. 2) They can keep you organized. 3) They can track your applications. 4) They can help you avoid missing deadlines. 5) They can apply to more jobs than you could manually. So, I'm torn. 😕 I've heard success stories, but I've also heard horror stories. It's a mixed bag. What about you? Have you used these tools? Were they a dream come true or a nightmare? Do you have any success stories or cautionary tales to share? Your thoughts could help me (and many others) make an informed decision. 🙌🏻

I’m curious……. If a person who is #OpenToWork and a 1st level connection to you on LinkedIn contacted you, shared their story, shared their resume, and told you that they were treating their job search like a full time job (ie 8 hrs/day), would you be willing to help them if you could? If that person who is #OpenToWork told you that in addition to their full time job search, they are working 2 hrs/day to create income to bridge the gap between now and when they start their next job, would you be willing to help them if you could? What if the #OpenToWork person asked you to schedule a 30 minute zoom (15 min conversation / 15 presentation) to get to know them and to see what value they are offering to the market, would you help them by sharing your time and attention for 30 mins? Success is the result of certain habits and action: 1. Creating value 2. Touching people’s lives 3. Putting other people’s interests first 4. Being real 5. Having the humility to stay open to receiving I am a giving person. A giving person gives thought, attention, care, focus, time and energy, and gives value to others. Being a giving person starts by adding value to others. It doesn’t depend on money. Money is the echo to value. It’s the thunder to value’s lightning. The value comes first. The money is the natural result. I am seeking to match those who are #OpenToWork with those who are #OpenToHelp. If I can do this successfully, then I can help people bridge the cash flow gap between jobs and help people avoid or overcome financial hardship. I have a plan to help others. Will you help me to execute the plan.? Let’s connect by phone or zoom. https://lnkd.in/eGsQxa-N https://lnkd.in/eF-RsHpU

🚨 Recruiter and Hiring Managers 🚨 .. Will hate you for this one simple trick.. When applying to something or addressing someone by email etc, use their name and/or title etc. If you don't know what that is, here are 2 easy ways to find out.. ✅ Their website ✅ Their Linkedin At the very least, do yourself a favour and fill out the prompted boxes... My advice to people looking for work, and recruiters etc jump in and correct me if i am wrong.. 👉 QUALITY OVER QUANTITY 👈 Looking for work can be frustrating, and more applications might feel like you're getting somewhere, but LESS IS MORE. If you don't believe me, give it a go. I think the fastest way to poison your chances of even being noticed, is to use things like LinkedIn 'quick/easy apply'. ❌ Guess where these countless applications go? 🚮 Take it slow, do it right. Have you had any success in making more detailed effort in few applications? What advice do you have for job seekers?

Happy Friday everyone! I know there are several different software’s out there that track applications, and I’ve used a couple of them in the past, but I decided to create my own. I used a Google Sheet, and I also added a note column (it’s hidden for the purpose of this screenshot). The thing I find discouraging about most of these software’s is that they just use the standard ‘applied for', 'rejected', 'first interview,’ etc. I like to remind myself that every ‘no’ is a step closer to my ‘YES!’! It's not always easy to stay motivated during a job search, but finding creative ways to track progress and stay positive can make all the difference. Do you have any unique strategies that have helped you stay motivated during your job search? Share them in the comments below! #jobsearch #motivation #positivity #opentowork

2 things in job searches or career design I don't like using with clients: 1) CVs 2) Online Applications Why? It is not because you fit in, that you belong! CVs and Applications are limited, generic, distorted, and overused. And those are just 4 of many reasons!! DM me to discuss. In the picture are just 5 of the things I do get a client to share with a potential employer. There are more yet these 5 are essential. If you want to find out more DM me here or WhatsApp 083-3008963 or internationally 00 353 83 3008963 Or come and ask me questions at my Free Career Hour next Tuesday the 16th.
