Meanwhile in the USA, our government keeps hiding their plans to expand the age of Military draft inside a budget bill and get our kids killed in their heinous wars, whenever they see fit. They should be serving us, but they are enslaving us in debt to pay for their profitable criminal wars. "The House of Representatives passed a resolution Friday that automatically enrolls young men for selective service, and expands the mandatory draft ages by one years, to men aged 18-26. Young men are already required to register for selective service if they are between the ages of 18 and 25, but the new resolution would enroll them automatically. Although the draft has not been used in half a century, it is considered a felony if an eligible man fails to register, Fox News reported. The resolution was included in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which approves the defense budget for the next fiscal year, and includes the government's top priorities when it comes to defense and national security policies. The NDAA passed the House in a 217-199 vote. https://lnkd.in/gT2Uhqtm You can read the text here. Subtitle D—Recruitment Sec. 531. Navy leaders, have you and your Sailors done your WGR Survey?👇 The 2023 Workplace and Gender Relations (WGR) survey is live. The bi-annual WGR survey is the Department of Defense’s official source of data collection relating to gender relations in the workplace, which helps leaders improve and develop policies and programs that better support Service members. If you received a letter in the mail, use that ticket number, or you can look up your ticket number on the website. Don’t have a ticket number? Don’t worry – you can still take an abbreviated version of the survey using your DoD ID number. All information is confidential. 🔗 Go to https://lnkd.in/eifM8Y5z to have your say.

I wonder how many of the recommendations in this report from 1998 are still being followed, if they ever were. "Retain as many first-term enlistees as possible" is self-evident, but how? Data regarding racism, extremism, sexual assault, discriminatory treatment, etc. which have seemingly constantly been in the news, has not been systematically gathered and analyzed. to my knowledge, except for the DODIG-2023-073 report, which addresses racism in military justice.. Deplorable barracks and living conditions require money to fix. Contaminated water and facilities require money to fix. No money, mo' problems. How much money would it cost to allow service members to grow beards, or to change the name of segregationist-loving politicians on ships? About the same as it cost to change hair, fingernail polish and tattoo policies, or hands in pockets regulations. The USAF has 20,000 single spaced pages of complaints of discrimination, because they ASKED for input in writing. Take all those reams of paper, break them into categories, decide what can be done for each category, and start fixing those problems. Each service should do the same thing, or use the USAF data. I suspect that would go a long way. https://lnkd.in/egmzf5-M

It’s with heartbreak that I give remembrance to the horrendous loss of every precious life taken by the crime of family and domestic violence. Let us never forget. ♥️ We face a national crisis. It needs to be treated as such by governments and the broader community. We all need to take responsibility for this - and men particularly so. Let’s not dodge the clear facts - the vast majority of perpetrators are men, and the vast majority of those impacted are women and children. Full stop. This means that men particularly need to step up, take responsibility, hold ourselves and other men to account - as individuals, citizens, friends, colleagues, family members and parents - the latter is particularly important. It terrifies me that attitudes seem not to be shifting, perhaps even getting worse, amongst young males. That’s a responsibility of parents/ carers and families as much as communities and governments to address. At the end of the day, every Iife is precious and must be valued, and we are so very badly letting down women such as those who we remember tonight. If you or someone you know needs help, please reach out to 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) for 24/7 confidential support.
At 6pm tonight many of us will be lighting a candle in remembrance of the people in our community who have lost their lives to family and domestic violence. Half of all the people accessing St Pat's Emergency Relief services are women; and the number of women seeking accommodation has jumped by a third in the past six months. But FDV is not a women's problem, it's everyone's problem. And while tonight we mourn, tomorrow the hard work resumes. For all those we've lost, we will never forget you. For all who survive, stand proud and know you will never walk alone. #neverforget #endfdv #endhomelessness

Shapiro Administration Highlights Long-Overdue Budget Investment Proposal in Intellectual Disability and Autism Services, Workforce At events across the Commonwealth, Department of Human Services (DHS) Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh has met with advocates, families, caregivers, and direct support professionals to talk about what these investments would mean to them and why they are vital to Pennsylvanians with intellectual disability and autism services so they can live with the dignity and independence they deserve. The Governor’s proposed $483 million in federal and state funding would provide more resources for home and community-based service providers, so they in turn can pay competitive rates to attract and retain the staff who provide these essential services. The proposal includes a $78 million investment of federal and state funds to serve an additional 1,500 Pennsylvanians with ID/A currently on the waitlist in the next fiscal year. The proposed budget sets a transformative course to eliminate the emergency waiting list for services for adults and reduce barriers to care for thousands of Pennsylvanians over the next several years. This system change will make Pennsylvania one of a handful of states to end its emergency waiting list and help ID/A community members access vital services to live independently, pursue education and job opportunities, and participate in the Everyday Lives they deserve. Governor Shapiro announced late last year that DHS would re-examine rates to better support ID/A service providers and the direct support professionals who dedicate their careers to helping Pennsylvanians with intellectual disabilities and autism. This investment in rates will support recruitment, retention, and wages for direct support professionals across this field who make inclusive, enriching lives possible for people with intellectual disabilities and autism.

I oppose the draft for at least four reasons: - Principle. - A draft is a symptom that military personnel are not being paid enough. There are 20,000 active-duty personnel on food stamps right now. -A draft will bring large numbers of people into the military who are in the 75% of the draft-age population who don’t meet the minimum standards to enlist. -The days of teaching a recruit how to salute, march, fire a gun, and send him to war are so last century. In this century, it takes at least two years of training to transform a recruit from a liability to an asset. Those who don’t meet minimum standards and don’t want to be there will take much longer. This is a misallocation of limited resources.

As of August 2023, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) recorded 102,390,967 NIN enrollments. These encouraging numbers have been achieved through increased awareness on the benefits of this means of identification. Prioritizing education and information about these benefits, especially in marginalized communities, could be the key to advancing formal inclusion in these areas.
