Clinton Hill, a 12-building co-op complex in Brooklyn Heights built in 1944, had to make energy efficiency upgrades to comply with New York City's building emissions law, Local Law 97. In order to achieve the upgrades, the project team aimed to foster a culture of training and energy efficiency among the operations and maintenance (O&M) staff. They developed a comprehensive energy efficiency training plan, thanks to the support from NYSERDA. NYSERDA's On-Site Energy Manager (OsEM) program provides a cost-sharing solution for industrial and commercial facilities or buildings to lower operational costs, reduce maintenance time, and create comfortable, safe areas by hiring or assigning a dedicated on-site energy manager. https://on.ny.gov/4cPznGT

When I think of 'Duty Holder' I think of the complete home renovation project I just completed. Instead of me trying to project manage things myself, organising each contractor, timelines, materials etc. I handed over responsibility to one amazing builder who coordinated everything for me, streamlining the process and ensuring contractors were on site at the right time and everyone was on the same page. To me the benefits of having one company manage all operations, maintenance, and modifications for an asset as a duty holder/operating partner are very similar to my home renovation analogy. When one company is responsible for everything, there's no confusion about who to turn to when something needs to be done. It's a win-win situation for everyone involved. At Wood Duty Holder it’s our best-kept secret but we are committed to spreading the word of the great work we've been doing with Kellas Midstream and Ancala Midstream, running, operating and maintaining critical UK energy infrastructure. #AssetManagement #Operations #Maintenance #Modifications #EnergySecurity #NetZero #Decarbonisation

We understand that most don't like the idea of disruption to their home live. That's why we are happy to say installing a solar system should only take a few hours to complete, pending that your installer doesn’t run into any major hiccups. However, if you’re installing a larger, more complex system – it might be a multi-day project. At most, a solar installation shouldn’t take more than a few days to complete.

Risk mitigation is a huge topic in the energy industry right now. Undergrounding more power lines could potentially reduce wildfire risk - and benefit the grid. Great story from Kim Riley. #EnergyIndustry #Grid #Power
Experts in the energy industry support utilities undergrounding more of their power lines to minimize the risk of sparking wildfires. Kim Riley has the story for Daily Energy Insider. "Ronald Brisé, former chairman of the Florida PSC and a previous member of the Florida House of Representatives, pointed out that [investor-owned utilities] should be allowed to underground in a meaningful way, at a rate that will produce measurable benefits to the grid. "'The PG&E proposal submitted to place about 2,000 miles underground in the next three years is reasonable considering that it will eliminate 98 percent of the risk associated with wildfires to those lines for a $3.40 per month cost to consumers,' said Brisé, a government affairs consultant at the Orlando-based law firm Gunster." #powerdelivery #safetyfirst #undergrounding #powerlines #wildfireprevention #gridhardening #gridmodernization #wildfires #damageprevention #gridresilience #gridreliability #underground #power #electricity Pacific Gas and Electric Company #criticalinfrastructure #powerindustry #energyindustry #PDi2 https://lnkd.in/g48m9ubJ
