New York’s green energy transition poses weighty questions. It’s these unknowns that inspired Udayan Nair to relocate from Ontario to Albany to form a cross-disciplinary team as NYISO’s first Director, Grid Transition. Listen now 🎧 https://lnkd.in/eGWQCZpX
Solar energy plays a crucial role in sustainability by providing a clean, renewable source of power that reduces greenhouse gas emissions, mitigates climate change and lessens dependence on finite fossil fuels. It contributes to environmental conservation, energy security, and economic growth, making it a key component of sustainable development strategies worldwide. #licensedsolarexpert#solarenergy#sustainability#renewableenergy
Nice to see Dr. Brad Pettitt MLC making good use of Sustainable Energy Now's independent energy modelling for the SWIS in the Green's Climate Positive Perth campaign.
There needs to be much more informed community education on the clean energy transition, including the headwinds and barriers. There is a vacuum of good information and an inordinate of disinformation on social media which we hear regularly repeated as facts.
You can find more information on SEN's energy modelling on our website.

How can we make Ontario's energy transition more equitable? Following EWG's monthly theme on Energy Transitions and Sustainable Development, policy analysts Mariana Higgins and Carter Bray consider the energy landscape in Ontario and examine contingencies around sustainable commitments for a clean energy transition.

Great article Rebecca Bratspies! I highly recommend a read of this article!
"Transitioning from a fossil fuel economy to a carbon-free economy necessarily involves simultaneous consideration of energy justice, environmental justice, and climate justice. Each is its own field. Yet, in the transition to a carbon-free economy, the intersections between these fields are clear. All three perspectives are necessary to understand how the benefits and burdens of that transition are allocated in a profoundly unjust world, and—more importantly—what to do about it. Questions like who works outside in the heat, who does or does not have access to cooling, and whose homes are being flooded by rising water would fall squarely within the overlapping portion of a Venn diagram of environmental justice, energy justice, and climate justice. These concepts not only intersect each other, but they also intersect broader social narratives around criminal justice reform and the recognition that there are profoundly racialized implications in how we police, who we police, and what we decide is or is not a crime worth policing."
The true understanding of green energy.
Green energy sources are considered sustainable because they are typically renewable, meaning they won't run out over time, unlike fossil fuels. Additionally, they have a lower environmental impact and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which helps mitigate climate change. Transitioning to green energy is a crucial part of global efforts to combat environmental problems and create a more sustainable and cleaner energy future.

Vermont has taken a monumental leap forward in the battle against climate change. 🌿🔌
In a move that sets the bar for other states, Vermont has mandated a shift to 100% renewable electricity. This legal commitment is not just ambitious—it's a game-changer for the green energy sector.
The state's ecosystem will breathe easier with measures like this, proving that sustainability can be enshrined in law, not just corporate pledges. It shows a dedication to clean energy that's more than talk; it's actionable progress.
What do you think this means for the future of energy in the U.S.? #RenewableEnergy#Sustainability#GreenFuture
