Thank you to Sprague Operating Resources LLC and Trucking Association of New York for hosting the MaiiC Inside Industrial tour with the senior automotive class from Alfred E. Smith High School in the South Bronx! Inside Industrial is an immersive program between MaiiC (NYC Talent) and NEW YORK CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS designed to ignite the awareness, curiosity, and enthusiasm of NYC youth towards the worlds of manufacturing, supply chain, innovation, infrastructure, and technology. Students saw how businesses like Sprague are not only keeping NYC supplied and warm today, but leading the transition to the green economy tomorrow. By integrating Renewable Diesel, an advanced low carbon, plant-generated liquid fuel that helps achieve immediate, substantial emissions reduction, more buildings and fleets will have a cleaner alternative until full electrification is possible. New York City’s vision for the green economy, outlined in the Green Economy Action Plan, deeply integrates economic and talent development, and programs like Inside Industrial bridges classroom learning and real-world applications by offering tours of the facilities that make New York City function, providing engaging and hands-on experiences to design and create their own products, conversations with employers and workers about the realities of the workplace and its connection to classroom learning, and strengthening their experience with local industry.
