It certainly feels like this sometimes. The scenario of the Scissors and the cable tie. I've seen some great roles during my search to return to the workforce after being self employed for three years. Some I've applied for even though I knew it was a bit of a stretch because I didnt 'tick all the boxes'. I recently spoke with a hiring manager for a role where I met 9 out of their 10 requirements, it was a key component and I raised this in my introduction. How do you get experience if no one will give you an opportunity to learn? I have a broad, transferable skill set that I've developed within a wide range of industries. There are industries I'd happily return to, and some that are completely new. I'm not afraid to get stuck in and learn. Skills can be taught, attitude and drive cannot. Have you hired someone who had most of the skills you needed except experience specific to your industry/role? If so, how did they do?

In the past 12 years, I've worked for 9 different employers. It was a clear growth hack for my career and it wasn't about the money. Here are the key questions I always asked myself: - Will changing jobs help me learn more or get a better position in the future? - What have I learned in the past six months at my job? Am I still learning? - Am I considering a job change because I'm encountering issues? Can these issues be resolved in the next 6 months? - Where do I see myself in the next 6 to 12 months if I stay in my current job? In the end, I always focused on maximizing learning. Getting a higher salary was a consequence on average, but sometimes, I was even okay with earning less when the opportunity was worth it.

Don’t settle for a job that you are overqualified for. You should aim for a job that challenges you and helps you grow. You don’t need to meet all the criteria to apply for a job. If you have at least 70% of the skills and qualifications, you have a good chance. Don’t let the number of years of experience scare you away. What matters more is how well you can do the job and what value you can bring. Go ahead and look for a job that suits your potential.

💡 Be wary of staying in jobs that feel "fine" but keep you from achieving your full potential............... I speak to countless numbers of people who describe their current situation as "fine" or "ok". Here are a few things i share with people when they're unsure about exploring new opportunities! - Growth Potential: "Fine" roles often come with limited growth. A new role can challenge you, expand your skills, and fast-track your career. - More Satisfaction: It’s not just about the paycheck. A job should be exciting, engaging, and something you’re passionate about. If your current role doesn’t light your fire, find one that does! 🔥 - Align with Your Values: Companies change, and so do you. Find a place that shares your values and makes you feel good about your work. - Expand Your Network: New opportunities mean new connections. Growing your professional network can open up even more doors. - Better Compensation: Staying too long in the same spot can mean missing out on better pay and benefits. It's important to take stock from time to time and assess if your current role is truly fulfilling your potential and aligning with your career goals - don't settle!

Sunday 8/20/23, SunnySide has landed it’s first 100,000.00 & more with the additions we will discover once we get the job rolling. SunnySide was fortunate to advertise on a magazine when it was first starting earlier in the year of 2023. We landed this job by being professional, commercial & faith. It’s the biggest job we have landed under “SunnySide Landscapes” we are looking at even bigger jobs by 2024 & doubling the growth. Normally I always get paid 50% upfront & 25% half way & the remaining once everything is completed. This job I decided to only ask for 25% upfront and I choose when I ask for more. The picture are just something I printed to make it even easier to close. I close on emotion & showing how much value you’ll have with the install! Who can put a price on spending great quality time with your family & friends?
