PARTS & ADMINISTRATION STRENGTHENED! We have wonderful news! In our Parts & Administration department we have two great new colleagues We would like to introduce you to Lies and Jacqueline. LIES VAN VUGT Lies lives in beautiful Den Bosch. But these days she can more often be found in Breda, where her boyfriend Arnold lives. But the greatest love of her life is undoubtedly Guus, her rabbit, who still lives with her parents. With an HBO degree in Business Administration and experience as a branch manager at Picnic, Lies brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. But what really makes her special is her personality. Lies is charismatic and always sees the glass half full. She is very sociable, a real go-getter and knows how to get things done. Pro-active, flexible, sporty and perfectionist: Lies has it all! Her motto says it all: “A real Van Vugt never reads the instruction manual.” This perfectly reflects how she approaches life: confidently and with a great dose of creativity. In her spare time, Lies enjoys horse riding, supporting PSV Eindhoven and NAC Breda, and reading fiction books and novels. She is not a big fan of Harry Potter and enjoys spending time on word puzzles and Sudoku. On top of that, she is a race true Jan Smit fan! When it comes to food, we can always make Lies happy with pasta carbonara or other delicious Italian dishes ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- JACQUELINE VAN ENGELEN Jacqueline is 35 years old and lives in Brabant with her husband Bart. They have two beautiful children: Bram aged 3 and Robin aged 1.5. Originally from cosy Roermond, Jacqueline has found her niche in Brabant. With a background in management from the Hoge Hotelschool, Jacqueline has already walked an impressive career path. She has previously worked at Thermofisher and Coredux, and now she is eager to join Nutek. From the first moment, Nutek made her feel open, nice and free, and we are glad she chose us. Happy International Worker’s Day!🙌 In the spirit of supporting the many hardworking frontline workers, I want to share some thoughts from 20 co-worker (Shopkeeper) interviews I conducted recently across our markets, along with observations from two days of job shadowing four Shopkeeper colleagues in our stores in Copenhagen and Helsingborg. If you’re also engaged in learning experience design for frontline co-workers, these findings might spark some thoughts or resonate with your own experiences. 1. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐧-𝐭𝐡𝐞-𝐉𝐨𝐛: Most learning occurs directly on the job, often through trial and error. Ideally, we envision our frontline workers systematically building their knowledge and skills from the ground up. In reality, however, learning at the frontline resembles a game of whack-a-mole — new challenges pop up unpredictably. Newbies might encounter complex problems that demand advanced skills on their very first days, essentially figuring out the basics by tackling high-level challenges head-on. 2. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐄-𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Here’s how e-learning is supposed to work: you learn, you remember (hopefully), you apply, and you practice what you've learned, leading to a happily ever after. The reality? More often it’s: you learn, you forget most if the experience is lackluster, you struggle when you can’t recall the crucial info languished on slide 27, and frustration ensues. Then, you dig out the e-learning from your Learning Management System (LMS), frantically click through a hundred slides to find that one piece of needed information, and finally apply what you’ve learned — until the next forgetful moment. 3. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬: The richest, most practical, and accessible knowledge doesn’t reside within an LMS; it lives in the minds of experienced, enthusiastic co-workers who are always ready to answer questions. Instead of loading newbies with a playlist of e-learns, perhaps we should be sending them to shadow these knowledgeable individuals for a day or two. 4. 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Imagine using a camera to capture how junior and senior co-workers approach daily challenges. You’d see differences in how they gather relevant information (knowing where to find it and who to ask), prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, and judge the applicability of solutions without extensive testing. If we want our junior workers to accelerate their growth towards seniority, we should teach them to think and operate like a senior. In your opinion, how can we better integrate these elements into our L&D strategies to enhance the onboarding and continuous development of our frontline workers? What strategies have you employed to capture and disseminate the invaluable tacit knowledge held by experienced employees? Looking forward to hearing your experience and perspectives! 💡 #LearningAndDevelopment #EmployeeEngagement #OnTheJobTraining #InstructionalDesign

From First Contact to Lasting Connection How often do we see the first spark of membership interest flicker out? The journey from a new member's first contact to a lasting connection is akin to nurturing a seed into a sapling. It requires more than just a welcome email; it calls for continued, genuine interest in their growth. Consider every touchpoint an opportunity to reinforce their decision to join. It's about ensuring that every interaction with a new member is warm, personal, and reaffirms the value of their presence in the community. Think of it this way: a member's first year is a conversation where they're asking, "Do I belong here?" Our job is to provide an affirmative "Yes" not only with our words but also with our actions. So let's design onboarding as an experience that leaves no room for doubt, making every new member an integral part of our story from day one. The right beginning, sets the stage for a long and fruitful journey together.

🎤 👋🎤 Hello Everyone. 😊🤗 😊 My name is Adefunke Fola Oyinloye, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to The Administrators' Hub. 💡 💡💡 The idea of creating an Administrators' Hub was first inspired in the early part of the year 2022; and it was centered around creating a platform where Professional Administrators, and anyone that is interested in learning Administrative skills, can come together to share our experiences, learn, unlearn and relearn, as well as exchange tips for success, in this ever evolving world of administrative processes. 🏬 🏬🏬 Administration, describes the art of the day by day running of an organisation, institution, business, etc. And going by this definition, anyone who plays a part in the day to day running of an organisation, institution, business, etc., is an administrator, irrespective of their profession. 🔨🪛🛠 While everyone is by inference an administrator, we are not to assume the knowledge of requisite administrative skills, for success. Deftness in the practise of administration, is a skill that has to be learnt, by all, if success, and continuous relevance in the world of works, is the goal! ✨️✨️✨️ And these are the nuggets that we would be sharing on this platform. 📌📌📌 A HUB, is a focal point, a midpoint position, a rallying point, etc. ✨️✨️✨️ So here, we are looking at a rallying point for everyone who is engaged in one way or the other, in the day to day running of an organization. Who then, is welcome here? 📌📌📌 Everyone is welcome! However, first and foremost, the one who is a Professional Administrator; and, secondly, anyone who is engaged in the day to day activities of running an organisation, institution, business, etc. ⏰️📅 Our debut, will be hosted via ZOOM, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, and we will be exploring the topic, "The Professional Administrator and requisite skills for career success" Please look out here, for more information on the Debut Edition. 💖💖💖 As I close, permit me to welcome you heartily to this platform, and wish you, a most impactful, and value- adding time, here. 😊 🙏 😊 Thank you. #administration #21stcenturyadministrativeskills #capacitybuilding #theadministratorshub

Why are ambassadors, continuous learning and follow-up needed? 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲 I usually compare it to giving someone a bicycle. "How?" you might ask. Well, like this. Imagine that you give a bicycle to someone - let's call him/her Robin. Robin has never seen, let alone used, a bicycle in his entire life. Maybe, you even leave him a brief instruction. Then you walk away with a "Good luck!". Some time later you return to Robin and suggest that you go for a ride with your bikes, Robin looks a bit unsecure (not sure what you mean by “riding the bike”) but welcomes you in. Puzzled, you then see that Robin has turned the bike into a table. It may be nice and perhaps even useful, but not in the way it was intended. When we, for example, implement activity-based workplaces (ABW), but neither help employees understand how to use the different spaces, coach them, set a good example nor follow up on what works well / less well and why, we do a bit like when we leave the bike to Robin without instruction. If we instead were to make sure that we have ambassadors, people who see the benefit of the new way of working/using a bike, can set a good example and also draw others, the chance increases that we get the intended benefit. See it as not only leaving the bike with Robin but also teaching him how to use the bike, maybe you leave with a pair of training wheels and a helmet and offer to help Robin both get started and further that you meet once a week and train together. Furthermore, you inform Robin that Joelle also received a bike the other day, that Kim and Maria both love to help others learn how to ride the bike and that you all are happy to assist whenever they need assistance or have a question. Most likely, Robin will learn faster, it will be more fun for all of you and after a while it is Robin who asks you if you can go for a ride together. 🚴♀️ 🚴♀️ How do You process when a new way of working is to be implemented? #changemanagement #newwaysofworking #projectmanagement #chiefconsultingAB

A good reminder for all of those in higher education that there's a very wide industry knowledge gap between faculty/staff at higher ed institutions and the students they serve. A first generation student (or anyone under the age of 25) might not know all of the hundreds of majors/programs listed on an application. Even if they do, is it realistic to ask a student who is just starting this exploratory process to pick something as specific as "Viticulture and Enology"? Students and their families are asked to comprehend increasingly longer and more confusing documents like the FAFSA, student handbooks, codes of conduct, course syllabi, SAP guidelines, and more on top of their coursework. Is it fair to expect students to be experts in all of these areas? Why are we surprised when an issue comes up and how often is the response "if you had read XYZ you would have known"? When was the last time anyone read the "terms and conditions" before just hitting accept? Revamping the student onboarding process is a great first step in the right direction and I'm glad more community colleges are taking notice. “Before this project, what we found is that when you just list all the majors, students get overwhelmed on the application,” said Kellie Ziemak, executive director of student affairs and enrollment management at St. Petersburg. “Sometimes they didn’t complete it because they didn’t know what to choose.” #highered #studentsuccess

Human Resource Business Partner🎯 I Head Hunter I IT Recruiter I Helping Individuals to find their dream job & companies to build top performing teams by hiring the best talent💰🤝
Einschulung- Incorporating Culture in Onboarding There are many important events in a person's life that have a great impact on our personal life and later career. And these events should be taken very seriously and supported by management/government for a better outcome. Today, let's talk about the traditional Einschulung process in Germany that has shaped the German workplace culture for centuries: punctuality is key and efficiency thrives on good planning, organization, team spirit and good communication. I can't help but think of the various onboarding processes companies use to hire talent today, but wouldn't a cultural onboarding approach make the experience more meaningful and memorable? I would appreciate more suggestions and insights 😊 The goal of the Onboarding process is to familiarize employees with the company's culture, development plans and policies. In today's world, cultivating a strong bond between employer and employee is critical to ensuring that new global team members are highly productive and convert that productivity into loyalty. And the Germans implement this in their system from preschool age. As a result, hardly any child in Germany is afraid of elementary school, and attendance and engagement are remarkable because the system (government, educational institution, parents) ensures that each child has an easy and enjoyable experience that helps him or her develop from an individual contributor with limited responsibilities to a full team member, with the goal that children "learn to learn" through play and become familiar with the structure of future learning. Today is the first day of school for my daughter. I learned a lot throughout the Einschulung process (from the registration/enrolment rules & processes, receiving the checklist from the school, the welcome email, the necessary follow-up emails/letters, the in-person meeting for parents, the get-to-know-you events for parents and kids attending the same school, the school tour, the fun activities and resources, the mode & venue for the organizing Einschulung day, creating an overall "wow factor"). Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we thank everyone involved. My colleagues who helped us choose the right school bag/Schulranzen (considering ergonomics, safety, and comfort), Neighbours who helped us make school Cone/ Scultüte and bake Einschulung Torte and the parents of the children of group (WhatsApp group) who kept us updated, and family, friends, and my clients for their gifts, warm wishes, and love. #einschulung #firstdayofschool #onboardingexperience #workculturematters #worklifebalance
