But, we are an ambitious lot and we are continuing to reduce our emissions. Our Green Travel Plan is just one step towards realising our goals. 📊 Our data revealed that Urbis produces around 377 tonnes of CO2 annually from travel across our Australian and Singapore offices. At Urbis, we believe that having honest conversations about our emissions is the first step in reducing them. 🚴 Our Green Travel Team has identified key opportunities to reduce travel emissions associated with our business operations including: - E-mobility: Exploring opportunities with Beam for Business and Lug Carrie to operate our own e-bike fleets so that our people can use e-mobility to get to meetings and site visits. - Cycling incentives: Offering our people opportunities to salary sacrifice a bike/e-bike. - Feet on the ground: Decreasing flights to achieve 25% reductions across our offices by 2029. - Central meeting points: Internal conferences will take place in a location that results in the least amount of air travel. - Spreading the word: We are bringing everyone along on the journey and working together as an organisation towards our goals. Responsibility sum-up – an integral part of Hiisi’s operation Almost a year has passed since we completed Visit Finland's Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) program as well as built the EcoCompass environmental management system and obtained the EcoCompass certificate. Through these programs, we educated ourselves in responsibility issues and created a development plan, which allows us to systematically take steps towards increasingly sustainable operation. What kind of things have already been done? • We offer our residents comprehensive recycling opportunities at our destinations and instruct them on proper sorting • We actively communicate about the responsible use of electricity and water • Also the new destinations launched this year are located close to public transport • Durability and longevity are important criteria in our procurement • We have centralized our warehouses to reduce driving kilometers • We optimize our driving routes and prefer Neste MY Renewable Diesel in our vans • We always think about the life cycle of furniture and equipment, e.g. we donate furniture and textiles that we don’t need any more but are in good condition • In a few of our destinations, it is possible to charge electric or hybrid cars • We always consider environmental friendliness of our purchases, for example new staff clothes and merch have been sustainably sourced We also have an environmental pledge: From words to action and showing example to others. In an era of sustainability, companies need to rethink their mobility strategies. Sustainable mobility is not only environmental protection, but also a competitive advantage with economic and image benefits. A brief overview: 🟡 Competitive advantage through sustainability: Companies benefit from a low ecological footprint and a clear competitive advantage. 🟡 Cost efficiency through carpooling: Promoting carpooling reduces carbon emissions and lowers mobility costs. 🟡 Based on the Swiss Federal Statistical Office FSO microcensus from 2021, the average occupancy rate of vehicles for all travel purposes combined is 1.1 persons - there is potential to increase efficiency. 🟡 Employee health and well-being: Sustainable mobility improves well-being and increases productivity 🟡 Legal requirements and role model function: Environmentally friendly transport is increasingly becoming a legal requirement. Early commitment ensures role model status. 🟡 Technological innovation and flexibility: Mobility platforms optimize corporate mobility, promote carpooling and reduce costs through efficient fleet management. At the "Auto≠Benefit" conference in Bolzano just a few weeks ago, Daniel Alfreider, Regional Councillor for Mobility, also said: "That's why ... every company should ask itself how its own traffic flows - including those of its own employees - can be managed as sustainably and efficiently as possible." Sustainable mobility is more than a trend - it is a strategic necessity. Proactive investments shape a sustainable corporate landscape. It's time to see mobility as an integral part of a sustainable corporate strategy and contribute to a green future. 🌿🚗 #SayHi #HitchHike #Carpooling #SmartMobility #SocialSustainability #EnvironmentalSevices #ESG #SDG

This initiative was just approved as a European Mobility Week Action! https://lnkd.in/dRgcvWKU. Use your holiday time to think about and apply for this contest! The Sustainable Campus Committee of the Energy for Sustainability Initiative of the University of Coimbra promotes a photo contest dedicated to Sustainable Mobility, which is part of the European Mobility Week in September 2023. The results will be presented and exhibited on the European Car Free City Day on September 22, 2023. We count on the support of the Coimbra City Council, which joined us in this initiative. Take advantage of the vacations and/or a period more given to creativity to think about these photos and to compete! You can find detailed information on the EfS website (https://lnkd.in/d_RnYdZ5 ), namely the regulations and the submission platform. We must move around at work or on vacation, and our daily life is full of images or portraits of sustainable and non-sustainable mobility. We use different modes of transport, but in South Europe, we still feel limited in using sustainable alternatives, whether walking, cycling or public transport. Although many municipalities have made considerable efforts to improve transport infrastructure and systems, our cities are over-occupied by cars, while there are (still) no competitive alternatives. Therefore, and as a picture is worth a thousand words, we ask for the following reflection (stimulating creativity in vacation time): - what picture can I use to represent a sustainable mobility solution that exists, that I experience and that I consider adequate and - what photo can I use to represent a wrong solution or a situation existing and to be changed?
