What a great World Values Day it has been. The best ever? The ValuesJam Deepdive Conversations series https://lnkd.in/exxxSZG3 uses a donation model so that people can attend for free if they want to and can also make a donation. All proceeds go towards supporting World Values Day activities.   These donations mean that, this year, we can offer 10 free ValuesJam card decks for people who have the ambition to create a series of values-led conversations in their community for World Values Day 2024. UK postage costs will be covered and we are asking people to cover the cost for overseas shipping. It is a simple application process:   Please email [email protected] with the following information: Name: [my name] Nominated organization/community: [name] I would love to receive/donate a ValuesJam card deck. An organization’s values are the foundation of a company. My pro tip? Every company event should reflect these values.💡 How do you go about doing that? 🤔 Well, it’s largely about partnerships. Here are a couple of examples of what this could look like: ☀️ You’re an organization with a mission to feed the hungry and that values equity—-you can offer a specialty cocktail made with Simple Vodka, a company that donates one meal to the hungry per drink. ☀️ You’re an organization that focuses on the environment—-while at a company retreat, carve out some time for a beach cleanup with The Surfrider Foundation, an organization dedicated to the protection of the world’s oceans and beaches with chapters worldwide. You get the picture. The more that an event is cohesively aligned with and based around a company’s values, the more powerful that messaging is to guests—-and, of course, the more impactful the event is overall. Some news from me: Humbled to be invited to join the Executive Council of the Chester Business Club. I set up my first business in Chester in 2019, WTS Media, and then Magnify PR in early 2023. At the heart of each of my businesses is storytelling. And over those four years I've been inspired by the story Chester has to tell and the huge opportunity the region can bring for start-ups: especially in the media, PR and marketing fields within which I specialise. My hope is to transfer some of those skills to help magnify the work the CBC does right across the city. But, more widely, I hope to also encourage and to show other new start-ups and entrepreneurs - especially those leaving university - why Chester and the north of England is the perfect place to launch a company. Essex-born, with East-London born parents, I know all about the opportunities the south of England can offer and the advantages that those setting up businesses in that region enjoy. But Chester, and many of the Powerhouse Northern cities beyond the walls of our city, will hold the key to unlocking the regeneration of the country post-Covid. So please start by telling me what you'd like to see the City offer start-up businesses that it doesn't already. Here's two from me: 1. Better (mobile) connectivity in the City Centre and down by the racecourse. 2. A Chester-to-London train service fit for the 21st Century. Let’s go…
