Travers Smith, a leading private equity-focused UK law firm, has reported a notable financial performance for the fiscal year ending June 30, achieving a record turnover of £215 million (a 9% increase) and profit per full equity partner (PEP) of £1.3m (an 18% increase). These results signify a substantial recovery from the previous year's flat growth rate, with significant contributions from its international asset management, cross-border M&A, and global disputes and investigations sectors. This growth is attributed to strategic hires, promotions, and disciplined cost management, despite challenges from economic conditions and competitive market pressures. Here’s the breakdown:   ♦ Litigation = 31 ♦ Corporate*= 18 ♦ Labour & Employment = 6 ♦ IP Litigation = 3 ♦ Insolvency & Restructuring = 3 ♦ Tax = 3   *including: capital markets, private M&A, banking & finance If you consider year of call, 2022 and 2020 calls are the most active years (with 16 and 14 lateral moves, respectively). Interestingly, 2023 calls kept pace with 2019 calls (8 moves each).
